Turn around

So, you’re Andy Reid this week. The team leaders keep saying they have to get better. You’re the coach, what do you do?

1. Get back to basics. Seems every year they play poorly, that is the message. So get back to basics, coach and practice.

2. LT. Pray DJ is adequate so Pat can have time to throw.

3. Defense. Change up the plan to work with the players available.

4. Offense. Stop the gadget plays, run some slants, crossers, screens, etc. We have two great backs, use them.

What would you suggest?

DJ starts at LT. Hopefully brings a level of consistency that Patrick Mahomes can trust, or at the very least, give him something he can work around. 15 is mobile. Evading pass rushers isn't a thing that really slows him down as long as it isn't an instant kill.

Try more running plays besides crawl up Creed's ass. Sweeps, misdirection, ANYTHING to spice up the hb blast calls. Don't give your backs 7 carries to do all the damage they can do. Pick one, commit to getting going, and if it isn't working, adjust and call a different type of rush.

Hunt And Pacheco are good enough that Patrick should not need to put up 50 passes.

Burn the cutesy bullshit playsheet. You currently do not have the horses up front to be doing this dumb bullshit that the defense is just waiting on you to try so that they can not only blow the play up, but flex on you afterward for not getting tricked.

Treat every Redzone snap like gold. Score touchdowns.

Last, if we have a guy not performing, get him the **** off the football field. Don't wait until Patrick has to lose his composure before you get the underperforming asshat out of the football game.

I'm a little nervous about the potential hits Mahomes might take from poor OL and having to play hero ball, but otherwise I can't say I'm too worried.

Still in the driver's seat for #1 seed despite the injuries. Gotten some decent in season players and getting players back.

No reason to think the team won't be able to step it up come playoffs.

Life's pretty good.

Sure, but then what? Put put in ANYBODY else? Like benching Morris and putting in Kingsley? Moving a guard to LT and finding out that doesn't really work?

I'd say spags too. He knows with kc he has freedom to experiment in the regular season and tighten up rotations during the home stretch. So you might play nazeeh longer than usual. Or not use McDuffie in the slot. Or not see how uche fits. He collects enough information and by end of season usually he makes smart calls on rotations after weeks of fan complaints about how we use our players.

I suspect Andy will wait patiently like he did last year. Quit panicking and get on the bus please. I’m guessing you have days at work where you don’t perform your best.
