Would you trade Chris Jones & CEH for Jonathan Taylor & a 2nd in 2024?

Probably a bad idea. And maybe this is influenced by my frustration with CJ holding out and making a horrible business decision and hurting the team at the same time. But our defense played well without CJ. And our running game sucks. We are terrible on short yardage. I’d much rather hand it to Jonathan Taylor than see Blake bell sneak it. And the colts could suck so that 2nd round pick could be a good value. The positional value of a top DT like Jones is really hard to give up but if he ain’t gonna play or is gonna be a problem, maybe it’s a good time to move on and get what we can? Jonathan Taylor is a stud and could help us offensively. And I know that Andy won’t run the ball but maybe he would start running it more if we had Jonathan Taylor?

Don't care if they're the mechanoid hybrid of Barry Sanders and Jim Brown. Don't want any expensive RBs on my team.

This was just a thought I had. I’m not convinced myself that I’d trade Chris Jones at all. The chiefs have all the leverage with CJ but if he’s not gonna play, be a distraction and possibly play it safe when he gets back for the final 10 games or even worse, pretend to be injured; then, it may not be a bad idea to get rid of him. I completely agree with chris value in theory but he may not be that valuable if he’s not motivated.

And if you don’t think that an elite rb like Taylor makes mahomes better, you’re nuts. Defenses have to game plan for a guy like that. And CEH getting significant reps is a weakness on our team.

I normally agree with this but Taylor is a rare back. He can catch and block in pass pro. He’s a big back and good at short yardage and he’s a homerun hitter with breakaway speed. He ran a 4.39 and it shows on the field. He’s also 226 lbs. We need more talent on offense and I don’t know of any other talented players on offense that you could get in trade. And Taylor is young at 24. I’d make an exception to that rule of cheap rbs in this situation. Sign him to a two year deal $24M and $15M guaranteed. That’s cheap for Taylor and it’s a short term deal. It might be a good time to sign the best back in league that’s under 25 years old with how cheap these rb contracts are. Plus that 2nd from the colts next year has a lot of value.
