Just spit-balling, but my guess is that Toney won't play Weeks 1/2, even if he's cleared to play. Andy's going to want to see him in practice, going through full practices, going near full-speed for at least a few days in a row before he puts Toney on the field. I could see him back in time for the CHI game in preparation for the NYG game, when we'd actually need him to be 100% rtg.

I agree. You need him now way more than you might need him later. It’s a lot to ask skyy, rashee or rice to step into a wr1 role right away. Play him now but gather info with live reps to figure out who is best suited to step in for him if he ends up getting hurt. It’ll be a way more informed decision and by then sub will have grown in confidence and experience.

He could play, but probably shouldn't.

Toney is always one insane looking cut away from a strain or tear on something in his legs. His cuts are absolutely vicious, and explosive, but the body just isn't meant to flex like that.

Don't forget Omenihu won't b available until Week 7 either.

Not that I think the sky is falling. But the defense might be a little rocky for the first 8-9 weeks while Spags figures out how to generate pressure upfront without CJ and Omenihu.

I mean, he's only been with the team for less than a calendar year. We can still hope that he can flip the script on his injury history this season. i wouldn't bet any money on it, but it is possible.
