Let’s talk about rd 2

Lot of good receivers left as well as corners.

Feeling good about it. What’s our big board look like?

All I know is that there should be some good players still left at both of our picks.

Would you take Meinerz over Dickerson? Not saying either answer is right or wrong. Just interesting you'd rather gamble on a possible unknown of a DIII player (although he looks like a monster) over the Remington award winner in Dickerson (with the checkered medical history). Agreed Humphrey would be ideal but likely gone early in the 2nd.

I gotta think we're looking hard at IOL, WR, CB, and LB at this point.
I think you’re going to see a big run on OL tomorrow. Eichenberg, Cosmi, Dickerson, Mayfield, Humphrey, Little and probably Radunz all before we pick. There’s a ton of value there.

A ton of value at Corner too that will come off the board

I get that everybody gets all nostalgic thinking back to 2003 but that's a fantasy. We have a real QB now. We already traded picks for a LT and signed the best LG in the game. This team has other needs that need to be addressed. If the BPA is IOL, so be it but Dickerson will never be BPA because of the injuries.

Veach has consistently listed OL and CB as positions with great depth in this draft.

We’ll probably take 1 of each barring an edge rusher falling to us.

Hell yeah there will be. I think we already knew that, it was just a question of which positions it would be.

Two things I didn't expect tonight:

1. The lack of offensive tackles getting picked. I thought for sure Jenkins would go in the 1st round. Obviously still ecstatic we got Brown but if the Chiefs did like some of these OT's, they could have gotten one without trading up most likely. It also means that one of them might be available at the end of the 2nd and while that would have been awesome before the Brown trade, I'm of the mind that I'd rather have another position now even if one of those guys falls.

2. The quick run on edge rushers at the end of the round. That really thins the talent pool for the Chiefs. Of the guys left, I really only like Basham and Perkins. Ojulari really isn't a scheme fit and I'm afraid that the lack of depth pushes a guy like Elerson Smith up to where it's just too high to take him.

I guess Chris Simms saying alot of these guys would end up as starting guards had some merit.

Absolutely I would. There's no expectation of them playing this year with Blythe already being in house.

Meinerz' upside at both center and guard is tremendous.

And for me, the injury history is just a non-starter. I know there's people that don't agree but Landon Dickerson wouldn't even be on my board. I'm not taking a guy that's had that many problems especially when he's an IOL and it's his legs.

Yeah there will be some guys there for us. Just saying I think a big run is coming at those positions bc of the value.

Everyone knows this OL and corner class is deep
