Should the Chiefs have traded up to snag Matt Ryan?

Lets have some fun!

Of course that would have meant giving up Dorsey, but at least we would have our QBoTF now.

Thoughts......

As for people saying pass on next years class because the prospects don't look great, hogwash. Nobody knows. There's a lot to play still this year and somebody might emerge.

All I know is this rebuilding process really isn't moving or even happening until we get a quality signal caller and I'd hate to see the Chiefs wait until 2010 because we hope a guy we like might be there when we draft.

We have to move forward.
Yep. I've kinda given up on Croyle...unless he comes back and has a great season and doesn't get hurt again..both of which are unlikely.

Stafford may not be the best QB yet...who knows. Painter might step up. Before the season started last year, everyone was talking about Brohm as "the guy", well Ryan showed he was the best QB of that class.

I've watched a little bit of Stafford, and I haven't found much I dislike..except for the fact that he has a sort of sidearm release and doesn't really have to carry his team like Ryan had to.

And if our team gels and wins 7-8 games next season, we might be drafting number 14 or 15 in the 2010 draft; and miss all of the QB prospects worth picking up.

You can't pass up Stafford just because Sanchez and Bradford should be out the next year. Although, I'd love it if Bradford came out after this year. That would be a great pick-up for us.

imo Chiefs fans would be crazy to want Herm anywhere near a young quarterback.

you really want Herm teaching a young QB you just spent 40 million on?

hell no

what ...... gonna teach him how to hand the ball off and then hit the fetal position so he doesn't get killed?

Yeah..but I don't think Herm would have enough time to totally ruin him in one season. However, we've seen how difficult it is for young QB's to succeed with changing OC's and HC's. Especially the OC part. I dunno, if Herm and Carl and Gailey and anyone tied to those guys left after next year and we could start with a new coaching staff and QBOTF in the 2010 draft, that wouldn't be too bad.

Pleeeassee....

First of all, ANY QB behind our O-line right now has a better chance of leaving the field on a stretcher than leaving the field with a Win.

let Herm stick with rebuilding the defense and drafting young talent.

1 more draft, 1 more year

then fire Carl and Herm .... let the new guys draft the QB and build the offense.

No. These threads are pathetic.

Dorsey, just like Derrick Johnson, was the NO-BRAINER CORRECT pick.

Judging by Green Bay's depth chart, Brandon Carr vs. Matt Flynn in the fifth is the tougher question.
