"The refs!!!" and generational QBs

I've noticed that no matter what Mahomes does, there will always be a portion of opposing NFL fans who are both too stupid and too prideful to bend the knee. The problem for them is Mahomes has accomplished everything he needs to do to be a part of NFL QB Mt. Rushmore before he's even 30 years old, so they're going to latch on to the one bulletproof excuse they have left: The refs!

You saw it with that Kermit Raider fan wearing a Mahomes/ref kissing shirt. Go to any reddit/twatter/facespace/whatever thread and some hater will chime in with "Y no holding callz in teh Super Bowlz???"

Then it occurred to me that many of us were doing the same thing when it was our QBless trainwreck franchise trying to beat Manning, Brady, etc. for years. Even now I think back to that AFCC game and that ****ing horrific fake roughing call on Jones and the no-fumble verdict on Edelman and I can't help but shake my head and think those calls go different ways if we're not playing Brady.

So I guess now that I'm on the other side of things, and the losers who scream REFS! at all of Mahomes' accomplishments are making asses of themselves, I feel like I need to make a time machine and go back and slap myself in the face for being a sourpuss hater.

Are you in the same boat?

I always wonder why the people that say the NFL is scripted never bet a fortune on the team it’s supposedly scripted for.

So you didn't read it, because the ruining the integrity and the Mike Martz quote really hit. This is excluding destroying the evidence.

The Patriots were legitimately great AND they ****ing cheated. Like Barry Bonds. Both can be true. The difference is the Patriots won championships by cheating. They likely would have still won several, but no way they get all six. They were a great team that cheated to become legendary and they've pretty much gotten away with it. If they hadn't, this Chiefs run would be even more revered than it currently is.

Bad calls are just a part of the game. I watched plenty of red zone last year to see it happen all across the league. The difference is good teams capitalize on those calls and bad teams don't.

With the chiefs constantly in the spotlight people are always going to say the calls go their way because the Chiefs capitalize on mistakes.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the same thing happens to Jim Harbaugh once everything comes out.

That is patently false. He did need an elite defense to win the SB this year.

This is not a statement against Mahomes at all, but there's a chance we don't make the playoffs this year if not for the Defense. They really carried us when the offense struggled this year.

That's not a bad thing.

And now? We see the greatness of Mahomes that not only does not get favorable treatment, but he doesn't need favorable treatment.

So no. We were correct back then and we're correct now.
This all day. The baseless accusations of butthurt fans about Mahomes do not in any way invalidate the factual claims about Brady that are on video and easy to go back and watch for ourselves. So many instances.

Where are the "smoking gun" examples about Mahomes? Him getting hit out of bounds by several yards? A defensive holding penalty that is on video and the defender admitted to? There's nothing.

The chiefs gave up just 17.3 points per game during the regular season and 13.7 during the playoffs.

If that's not elite I don't know what is.

What aren’t you getting about the fact that Mahomes won 2 SBs with mediocre (or worse) defenses? The fact that one was finally good for him doesn’t change the fact he didn’t need them to win; the fraud GOAT always did.

But you said he had 1 average defense in 3 Bowls. Why lie? D was elite last year
