Do you really take some time to appreciate where we are?

Became a Chiefs fan in the early 90's when Word, Okoye, DT, Smith was here.

Looking back on 30+ years with this team. I remember the 97 playoffs like it was yesterday when we went 13-3 and the ****ing Vaseline greased up donkey dicks beat us in Arrowhead and what an absolute gut punch that was.

So I wanna share something here. I went through some awful shit in my teen years with multiple friends being killed and a lot of other stuff in my life.

One thing I really learned from loss, was how to appreciate when things were truly good.

As a fan, sometimes I just sit and think it's wild for us to be here in this position. Where we're the absolute center of every sports show, every commentator, all the hate we get (which I love), and the fact that from top to bottom we have the best organization in the NFL.

Bro it feels weird to even type that with all the Carl Peterson years (some weren't that bad but some were truly awful).

You guys don't know this but I was friends with Jovan Belcher and I remember the day the news hit and before I even saw the name I knew. Don't ask me how but I did. He used to text me about upgrades for his car and send me pics and vice versa.

I'm friends with several former Chiefs players and sometimes we talk about how crazy this time is.

Anyway, the point is......man I hope you guys really take all this in right now because we will never get it again like this.

From Pat, to Andy, Trav, this defense, everything. There are fans for teams for 50+ years that die and never see a single Lombardi. EVER. We've seen 3 in four years. And hopefully the only 3peat to ever happen.

Just a reminder to really be present. This is some damn good times to be a Chiefs fan, fellas.

I just love that this thread immediately skipped any "feel good" unity and went right to name calling and threats of violence.

Yes. I don't give a **** about virtually anything in the regular season. Remember when we used to NEED to win some ****head game against some bullshit NFC team or some shit so we could just get into the playoffs and hopefully catch lightning in a bottle and make some noise? **** man.

I give no ****s about the regular season. Christmas Day game? Cool I get more Mahomes next week. Donk game? Whatever, I get more Mahomes next week. I'm here to soak up as much Mahomes as possible because he's the best thing that's ever happened to Chiefs Football.

I love the defense. Watching Chris Jones ragdoll OL dudes is wildly enjoyable. Watching QB's melt when Spags dials up ridiculous shit makes my week. Watching Kelce inexplicably always be open - mindboggling as it is is just a ton of fun. But I'm here for Mahomes. Every throw. Every ridiculous scramble. He is him. And I'm here for it.

I'm just soaking it all in.

This team three-peats, especially on the backs of a great defense and he will have a very good case. I think he’s a HOFer now, but I don’t know how many people if any ever got in as a coordinator.

Dick LeBeau made it in as a 'player', but truthfully a lot of those votes came from his work as a DC, even if no one 'officially' acknowledges that.

But IF what you suggest above comes to pass, I think Spags would have the strongest argument to date for a pure coordinator getting into the Hall one day.

Yes I do. I also remember being furious about a loss for at least the entire next week. We lived and died with every win or loss.

Now I can shrug off a loss with the idea that we're going to be fine. It's just one loss.

I finally understand this:

This.

This is the best thing of all.

I remember as a young Chiefs fan living or dying off every big win or loss in the regular season. Now it's like, meh, whatever. Sucks to lose but the playoffs are really all that matters.

The last time I can remember being down bad was the loss to the Bengals, and it was more due to just being shocked after the way we had rolled em in the first half. The second half of that game was just like a trip through the Twilight Zone. Didn't make it any damn sense.

Bruh, shut your fat ass up. Nobody is scared of the guy who closes down the buffet nightly. Just like all internet bad asses, you are quiet as a church mouse when you’re in public. Your wife’s bull has taught you better manners than this. Use those skills, and shut ya one who sucks the penis. Don’t be the next victim at the George Brett statue.

I have been a Chiefs fan since Christmas day 1971. How was I to know then that that game would set me up for decades of heartbreak. I have seen so much that broke my heart. Even during this current amazing run I sometimes find myself expecting to add to the scars that the Chiefs have given me.

I say these things to tell you I came into this season with a different attitude. The Chiefs are playing the long game here. The regular season only matters to the point of getting the 1 seed and winning a Lombardi. With them having this attitude, I have adopted that too. I am enjoying the journey this year. I don't really look to hard at game to game performance. The NFL season is full of ups and downs. I try not to get too caught up in them. Are we improving? Well the defense is, in my mind, the #1 D in the NFL. The offense has struggled, but when I look, they are improving, maybe slower than I would like, but definitely improving.

I have enjoyed this season as much as any and my stress level is significantly reduced. It is incredible to watch this team take care of business. The entire NFL has a focus of knocking off the Chiefs. The hate being directed at the Chiefs is glorious. Whether we get our third championship in a row or not, only time will tell, but I am enjoying the ride more than ever!

Go Chiefs!
