***The Official EMAW Repository thread***

I know there are enough of us to participate in this thread, even when our seasons inevitably go to shit.

KSU vs Western Illinois today, tip-off at 3:00 pm.

One thing I noticed near the end of the game on Friday night - we had 5 true freshman on the court, and still played sound basketball. None of them were scrub walk-ons either. While I don't think we will make a serious run at anything this year, the foundation is being laid for a solid program in the future.

I have to be out of town for the ku game, so I sold my 4 tickets and parking pass for $1800. I had a ku buddy offer me $2600, but there’s NFW I was selling my tickets to a ku fan

Cats were pretty fortunate to be one of the blue bloods that gets those kind of "rigging the game calls" like Notre Dame. Just a fact of life.

Guess we fans will just have to live with that. (*darn)

However I DO think the Cats were fortunate that the Green Wave QB decided to be an idiot and give the scoop n score. The D forced a punt and the Cats went into a shell, running DJ for 1 and then another 1 and then a screen pass for a giant gain of zero.

I understand being conservative and not giving the ball back in plus territory, but I swore that Messingham calling that drive. You HAVE to be a touch more creative there in the future.

Also, use Dylan Edwards a little more. He and DJ will be a very thunder and lightening combo.

Even though he was a bit inconsistent last season (I thought anyway), I was really missing Collin Klein calling plays yesterday.

I spent a good deal of the game yelling at the tv to stop calling pass plays behind the LOS. I hate that horizontal passing shit, throw the ****ing ball forward. I know everyone does it these days, but I felt like it was heavy handed yesterday.

In the post game, Kleiman said "we have to find an identity on O and D". He's correct. It's going to take some time for the team to gel after losing some good players on the OLine.

But D Edwards looks like a player.

Love Avery’s potential, but he better get some touch on his passes - soon - if we’re going to do anything big this year. Some really rough passes so far, with maybe 2-3 great ones.

Arizona is breaking out new unis and a script helmet for Friday's game. I thought this tweet by Fitz was pretty funny (even though I think Fitz is an absolute doucher)

Why would K-State NOT take a ranked opponent like U of A seriously? Or, for that matter, why would they not take any opponent seriously? It's pretty obvious they are far, far from a juggernaut.
