They can’t get open, they drop passes in their hands, their jet sweeps are slow and terrible. These guys are not good.

They had alot of production from the RB spot last year that probably isn't repeatable.

Except McKinnon has CLEARLY lost a step. Looks like he's lost 2 steps TBH.

And he accounted for over 500 receiving yards last year and a lot of our big plays.

I love McKinnon but he was no longer The Jet by last year's playoffs.

I've kinda dipped out of this receiver conversation as of late...but i wanted to say this though:

The complaint about the receivers....we keep trying to find reasons why we're so underwhelmed. "It's the routes! It's the youth! It's Mahomes' trust! It's Andy Reid".

It's REALLY about the lack of explosive plays and ability to do something with the ball once the catch is made.

That's what this is REALLY about. These guys aren't creating. They're running routes just fine. They're catching just fine. Young guys ARE playing.

But aside from Rice, these guys aren't creating on their own. No one is scary with the ball in their hands. Toney CAN be, but it hasn't clicked yet.

The playmaker is supposed to be at QB. It's his job to get them the ball when they're open.

The QB can't make a guy miss and pick up extra yardage. The QB can't make the WR separate so much that they actually house a deep ball.

When our Qb hits a receiver, they pretty much go down right away.

It's a lack of playmakers. Bottom line, really.

I think Rice has real chance to be a difference maker at the end of the year.

All I am advocating for is to give ourselves a little room for error here.

Get one more guy in that is a matchup problem and then if Rice is ready and you have THREE guys that can hurt you in the passing game plus Mahomes/Reid and the defense we just kill people and are the first team to repeat as SB Champions in 20 years.

That's not so bad, is it?

Teams aren't giving up big chunk plays as much anymore. Looking around the league, defenses are really on the upswing.

And it's no sure thing that anyone available is going to be able to assimilate into this particular offense midseason on the fly.

Justin Watson has been our biggest playmaker in the passing game this season.

...a guy that most of CP wanted cut. A "JAG" for the most part.
