That touchdown to Rice was a beauty. Is it just me or does Worthy look open on every play??

Washed up Kelce was wide open on that TD pass to Morris.

The hand wringing after one week against a team with a DC that owns him worse than anyone in the NFL is already old.

Dude was elite in Week 1. Just chill. Probably re-create the Patomic Bomb in Atlanta this week.

I think Perine will get most of the snaps as a blocker/safety valve now. Probably still need to chip on the left side at this point but the short passing game can take the place of those Pacheco runs.

I love that view because it so perfectly demonstrates what I've wanted to say to the "What else can could he have done!?!?" crowd.

The folks pissed about the PI flag all say the same thing - "What was he supposed to do, let Rice catch it?"

No. He did EXACTLY what he was supposed to do. Get as close to timing it perfectly as you could and hope they don't throw the flag. But there are times in this game where circumstance or talent says that no, there is simply nothing the opponent could do.

Look at it this way - if the QB misses a blitz protection call and say Micah Parsons comes screaming unblocked off the edge. The RB sees it, swings over but not in time to get in front of him so he grabs Parsons by the jersey and drags him to the ground. Flag comes out for holding. Is anyone gonna say "Well what else was he supposed to do, let Mahomes get sacked?"

No. Circumstances dictated that the only thing he COULD do at that point is commit the penalty and hope he doesn't get caught. But nobody is going to say that the flag shouldn't come out because the RB was left in an impossible situation.

Here Mahomes created an impossible situation. Obviously buying time was a big deal. But look at him draw 22 out of the way by looking at Perine. 22 is in position to defend that ball. Easily. And Mahomes looks to Perine to draw him down. The very instant 22 commits to Perine, the ball comes out against Mahomes momentum and right on the damn money to Rice.

Did 33 do absolutely everything he could do to try to defend that ball? Yeah, he did. But he was an in impossible situation because of how crazy good Mahomes is. Being in an impossible situation is a REASON to commit a penalty - but its not an excuse not to throw the flag.

It's PI. And it's PI not because the refs are in anyone's pocket - it's PI because Patrick Mahomes made it so. Because he's better at this than your guy is.

Rashee was absolutely gonna catch that ball if the defense wasn’t mugging him before the ball arrived. Great job by Rashee on that play and a pretty good throw from Patrick as well. Very catchable ball despite the Bengal fans pretending otherwise.
