Peyton “looked real good” throwing to new Broncos teammates

As he settles in with the Broncos, Peyton Manning is learning the rules of the new Collective Bargaining Agreement, including that he can work out with teammates, but only away from the team’s facilities and outside the watchful eyes of the coaches. And that’s exactly what Manning did today.

Lindsay H. Jones of the Denver Post reports that Manning took snaps from center J.D. Walton and threw passes to wide receiver Eric Decker and tight end Julius Thomas during a session at a Denver-area high school, and afterward Decker said he liked what he saw.

“He looked real good, though he probably won’t admit that he’s feeling good or feeling back to the way he wants to be,” Decker said.

Decker said Manning is trying to get comfortable with his new teammates now, and that the players who were on the roster last year are talking to him about the offensive concepts the Broncos employed — even though the offense will be quite a bit different with Manning running it in 2012.

“Just some drill work, talking through stuff, so he gets familiar with the verbage and the calls,” Decker said. “The biggest thing is he wanted to get a feel for us, and a feel for being under center.”

The Denver Post published 23 photos from today’s session. To the extent that you can tell anything from a still photo of a guy throwing a pass in sweats and a T-shirt, Manning looks pretty much like he has always looked.

Oka...he's only the most complete corner in the game. Cover, stop the run, tackle, nose for the ball....and while he's getting along in age, you're still talking about a guy that was trained by Deion Sanders and Darrell Green. He knows all the tricks. Your boy Bowe can't even find his stick'em in his locker. :P But I am sure Bowe will have a great year.....when he finally reports.

That's very knowmo of you to say that. The man is washed up. He's clinging to a "once was" career.

The man is toast. There's a reason they have talked of moving him to safety.

Not sure if this was already mentioned, but since Denver has started camp Manning has not thrown a deep ball. This was mentioned yesterday, they're thinking he's not ready to throw deep.
