I mean there are RBs out there running behind shit lines who put up no production because they have bad QBs and bad OLs and so defenses sell out to bottle them up. We don't give them any rope for the Pro Bowl because in the end, Pro Bowls are do or do not. You produced or you didn't. The why of it really shouldn't matter much.

I think Pat should get FAR more MVP consideration than he's going to get (though I'm not sure I'd choose him as the winner) because despite all the shit he's put up with, he's had his team winning games. But I don't think that means he has a better Pro Bowl case than any of those 3 players.

Those guys simply outproduced him and by a fair bit. What happened in 2023 is completely irrelevant to a review of the 2024 Pro Bowl nods.
Yeah, I mean... Andy Reid is easily the coach of the year this year. However, that award means nothing to him and Kevin o'connell is a tremendous candidate too. It's not like years ago when he's losing to guys like daboll. Or where mahomes is losing mvp simply because he's already won it. I don't mind losing these accolades as much when the guy winning it has been outstanding and deserving in their own right.

How warped is the COTY voting that Andy Reid hasn't won it in over 20 years.

There is ZERO argument that there's been a better coach in the NFL since 2013 and yet in that entire decade he was never given serious consideration for the award.

I mean even in 2018 when the Chiefs DID do the 'defy expectations' thing, he lost out to Matt Nagy. Jason ****ing Garrett won it. Kevin Stefanski, Ron Rivera and Bruce Arians have won it TWICE.

And the best coach of the entire era hasn't.

COTY can lick my taint. I can't even win that damn thing in my Madden franchise.

O’Connell went 14-2 with Sam Darnold.

He’s the coach of the year

Mahomes is about to win another SBMVP. None of the rest of this matters.

I don't have much of an issue giving it to O'Connell this year.

That said - I think Reid could've gone 14-2 with that team and Darnold at QB. I don't think O'Connell could've taken this team with all its injuries and the distractions and the 'disease of more' and taken them to 15-1.

To me, that says Reid had the more impressive coaching season.

Andy Reid not getting that award in 2015 was insane. The Chiefs came back from pm 1-5 and made the playoffs.

Insanely difficult to achieve

Dj has talked about this before I think, but the Chiefs (And really Pat) haven't ever had their "Piece De Resistance" and just left a trail of destruction thru the playoffs. It's always been work, which isn't really abnormal (it's the best teams you are playing).

But......the way this is trending could this be the year they just ****ing massacre their way thru this thing?

Look at how it's setting up.

You could get a limp dick Texans or a shitbird Steeler team ideally here in the divisional round, then a Bills team with a defense htisimage could throw against.

Who are you gonna get in the SB? Philly's defense is good but it's no 9ers teams we've seen before.

I think Andy Reid has a damn good case too. But I won't fight it because KOC is very deserving of it too. I feel the same way about mahomes right now. Both of them are cemented as one of the greatest of all time. This nomination means way more to Allen, burrow, lamar than it does mahomes. If anything it will make the journey all the sweeter when he rolls over a few pro bowlers en route to a super bowl. If anything it's a feather in mahomes' cap that we keep winning super bowls even with an extraordinary amount of QB talent out there

We mostly agree. At this point I don't think we care very much about regular season awards though. Just go win the Super Bowl.

Yeah - I've said for the last couple seasons "Hey, maybe this is the season they just rip through the post-season like a buzzsaw"

Because I feel like the dynasties all had one.

So maybe this is the year.

With Hollywood back healthy, the offense has seemed to really find a gear the past month or so.

I dunno.....it could happen.

If Humphries looks at/near the level of 2023 Humphries against Denver, I'd say it's a real strong possibility.

(And when Watson makes his triumphant return in the divisional round, we can just call it a done deal...)

Was talking about that with my son last week. Reid should be getting solid consideration THIS YEAR given the injuries, schedule, and record.

Honestly, though, this team doesn't care about individual awards whatsoever. They want to win. Period.
