*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

So according to the Alex Smith haters

-Alex Smith sucks at throwing to WRs
-He sucks at throwing to TEs.
-He never throws a good deep ball
-He isn't clutch
-The only reason the Chiefs have a good record with him is because of our D and special teams
-He holds this team back
-Alex Smith isn't good at baseball because of one pitch

So basically he is the worst QB to ever play in the NFL. Okay guys thanks for clearing that up. You guys are real QB geniuses

Holy shit, that might be the dumbest thing you ever posted and that it saying a lot considering all the manure you have spewed in this thread alone.

Yep, Alex is known for his amazing ball placement.

Pretty much the opposite- Alex is total shit at leading wide open receivers so they can get yards after the catch. Horrible. I couldn't even begin to count how many big plays or even first downs were lost because of that noodle armed pussy throwing low, high or behind the guy. Hell, he can't even manage to lead Ware or Hill with good placement on swing passes behind the line. Even worse- his patented hike and throw horizontally directly to the receivers are typically behind the guy, giving that extra step the defense needs to shut those plays down. Because of this, we have actually Lost yards on those plays when we were sitting at 3rd and 1.

The only good ball placement Alex nails on a regular basis are when he throws perfect spirals into the ground to stop the clock.

It's more like this:

-He CHOOSES not to throw to WRs
-He's fine at throwing to Kelce but needs to look his way in the red zone far more often
-His arm strength isn't great, but it's not a problem. It's again, his unwillingness to throw downfield
-He's clutch against terrible defenses
-He rarely helps the D and ST out in the 4th quarter by giving them insurance scores
-A better QB will help this team win playoff games against tough opponents
-That WAS a pretty ****ing funny first pitch

He does many things well. He has a LOT of shortcomings too, many of them mental/decision making. The Chiefs have tasted consecutive playoff appearances. Now it's time to start challenging for conference titles and Super Bowls.

Alex isn't good enough to get us there.

That last sentence is THE bottom line. Disagree?

Now that is fair and objective. While I don't agree with all of it you definitely aren't being unfair I guess is the word.

I disagree that he isn't good enough to get us there. He beat Drew Brees in a shootout in a playoff gm. He can do it. Just need our D and O to get a little better and we will be fine.

Mark Sanchez beat Philip Rivers, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady in three playoff games.

He needs to take more shots downfield as well. Too bad Kelce dropped that deep one vs Pit. Drops were a real problem last season.. to add to the many other areas of problems.. including some from the QB.

The team always seems to have some serious problems.. starting with injuries... and people get furious with Smith because he's not Tom Brady to save the team from its other issues.

That trade was clearly a mistake. Any reasonable SF fan (who isn't an Alex Smith hater like many posters on here) would tell you that.

Twelve years and 2 playoff wins his career, come on man, he wasn't clutch against Pittsburgh Steelers when we needed him to be.
