OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

Someone really confident about Mahomes regression should put it on the board and post “The Uncomfortable Reality that’s a fading Patrick Mahomes” today. I’m sure the last two seasons of stats would give them a compelling case!

Patrick Mahomes is easily the best quarterback in the NFL and the best quarterback in Chiefs' history.

Patrick Mahomes has also been inconsistent and is having a subpar season by his standards.

Both can be true.

Why can't people see that?

Pat is great. A once in a generational talent.

He will go down as one of the greatest of all time.

He is having a BAD season this year.

All of these things are true at the same time.

Worthy and Hardman are the only guys with any actual speed and that's a gadget guy and a rookie they don't seem to want to push the way some other teams would.

I mean shit even the run game has no explosion. What Hunt is doing is admirable but he's not explosive. Perine and Steele certainly aren't either.

In the past Pat has had a guy or 2 to lean on since Hill left..now he has none.

It's no coincidence he's not having a great year when you mix the injuries with the personnel.
Agree 100% with all of this plus the LT position has been bungled all to hell. This team next season needs to get younger and faster on offense.

I’m not sure anyone is arguing this point today (at least from what I’ve seen). It’s the Stephen A. hyperbole going around that makes this conversation insufferable.

I don't even fault them, if you put Rice, Brown and Pacheco back on the field we wouldn't be seeing all these issues.

And two of them will be back.

Not worried even a little right now. To each their own.

I'd argue we still would because our LT play has been bottom five in the league bad. It just wouldn't be as apparent because of how quickly Rice can win early on his routes.

Getting Pacheco back is going to give this offense a jolt. They need his energy and fresh legs badly.

Also think the same for Omenihu.

And yes I think Hollywood starts practicing sometime next month. I pray to God Watson comes back at the end of next month as well.

LT has been a carousel since Mahomes started. Fisher, Cam Erving, Orlando Brown Jr, Donovan Smith, and now the Morris/Suamataia cluster****. Tough position to just rely on a new "JAG" every year.

It was never really an issue until the quality of weapons declined because now the receivers don't win their routes in a second.
