*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

The one that immediately comes to mind was a pass to Kelce against the Raiders in Vegas that was oh so perfectly placed over the defender's shoulder... but that might even be second to one of however many side arm throws, cross body throws, etc.

I wouldn't say it's his best throw bc I still think it was an iffy at best decision. Amazing throw though no doubt.

For me the one that often comes to mind is 2020 Week 2 @ Los Angeles, 60+ yard throw on the run to Tyreek.

Top 5 for me.

4th and 9
WASP
Super Bowl Superman
Throw to Tyreek against Raiders that got called back, OR the bomb to Worthy
Slammed in the chest and throws it 40 yards downfield into a breadbox perfectly

Probably forgetting a couple that might also make it in that list

I love the pass to Sammy Watkins down the right sideline late in SB LIV. The Chiefs were still behind and desperately needed to score. It wasn't the most difficult throw, but it was beautifully placed.

That was the best throw of the Super Bowl to me. WASP outweighs it in importance, but Patrick threw a beautiful ball that led Sammy perfectly. It’s the sort of throw that separates Patrick from the QB’s we’ve had in the past. When he needs to place a ball like that, he more than often delivers.

In a similar vein, his 60 yard ball to Sammy is the throw most remembered against the Titans, but he threw a touchdown to Hill down 10 that looked like a 65 mile an hour ball thrown in a frigid stadium that day. It was a tight window and was just about to close, but he put some ass into that ball and it completely changed the flow of that game.

The one to D Hop reminded me of his jump pass to Hardman against the Titans back in 2019.

The degree of difficulty on this one was much higher, though. More bodies in the phone booth collapsing on him and also like 30 yards downfield with little to no loading up. That was all arm talent.

I don't know. I think it's a better catch than throw. He threw into triple coverage and almost any receiver not named Hopkins doesn't make that catch and we are looking at another potential INT.

As others have said, better catch than a throw. But it’s a super, super smart throw. If that gets picked, it’s fine because it was third down and ultimately an arm punt. It’s absolutely good risk/reward at that down and distance at that part of the field.

The Chiefs have just never had a guy who is going to emerge from triple coverage with that catch. Ever. It reminded me of the Hail Mary Hopkins caught to eviscerate the Bills a few years ago. The dude just gets after it.

I don't know if it's the best or not, but the 2018 game 3 throw to Conley against the 49ers is a strong contender, with the added boost of being such an early-career eye-opener.

I loved that pass, but it was the pass to Conley in the back of the end zone against the Niners that solidified it for me. I honestly don't believe there is another player in the NFL then or now, that could make that play other than Mahomes.

Mahomes 18th in passer rating (fraud stat) and 6th in QBR (real barometer) with all shit ass WRs except for 1.5 games. Has to be biggest difference between those two stats of any QB lol
