It’s not even bc a Tom Brady was in his way except for 1 time (he still blew that one) but he just had no winning burning desire anymore.

He’s had HFA the last 2 years and blew it spectacularly. This year it wasn’t even a tough opponent

He’s a shiny Kirk Cousins at this point. Stat padder who can’t get the job done when it matters.
All this… if Cousins is cheaper and they are hell bent on sending picks, i prefer that route. Still prefer Wilson and then draft one.

Wilson would definitely be the best pick up for Denver, but would probably cost the most draft capital.

He would certainly elevate your offense. Not to the heights KnowMo believes, but it would definitely improve and make you guys a more balanced team.

Abolish The Salary Cap!

From PFT:

Quote:
If the Packers and quarterback Aaron Rodgers are going to go their separate ways, the Packers don’t want to be blamed for the split. Their official position, to no surprise, is that they want Rodgers back.

“We are significantly over the salary cap for next year, and will have to make many difficult decisions in order to get under the cap,” CEO Mark Murphy said in his periodic column at Packers.com. “A key factor will be whether Aaron Rodgers comes back for the 2022 season. [Coach] Matt [LaFleur], [G.M.] Brian [Gutekunst], executive vice president/director of football operations Russ Ball and I are all in agreement that we want Aaron to come back. He is likely to win his fourth league MVP, is the unquestioned leader of our team and is still playing at a high level at 38.”

The juxtaposition of Murphy’s concerns regarding the cap with his desire to see Rodgers return is likely no mistake. Rodgers has said he doesn’t want to be part of a rebuilding effort. If the cap situation makes it feel that way to Rodgers, he’s more likely to not return.

The safer bet already is that he’ll ask to be traded. The thinking is that, last year, the team agreed to trade him after the 2021 season, if that’s what he wants. It’s believed that he will indeed reiterate that request, sooner than later.

But at least the Packers can say they wanted him, even if the Packers will bear plenty of the blame for his exit, if that’s what happens.

Hill went from 1,100 yards and 7 TD's to 1,400 yards and 12 TD's from 2017 to 2018 not because he got better, but his QB did.

Kelce went from 1,000 yards and 8 TD's to 1,300 yards and 10 TD's because of his QB. Not because he was any better.

There are a TON of awesome WR's/TE's out there who are just as good as some "name" guys, but they don't have a QB who can get them the ball.
Yeah.

A ****ing TE "only" got his team 1000 yards and 8 TDs.

A ****ing college RB/kick returner in his 2nd year in the league "only" got his team 1100 yards and 7 TDs in spite of learning the position just the prior season.

Those two turds "only" did that level of production with a game manager at QB.

Meanwhile, in three seasons, Noah Fant's best year was 670 yards and 4 TDs. Give Tyreek Hill's two seasons to a player like Jerry Jeudy who's been playing WR ever since high school and the best he can come up with is 856 yards and 3 TDs in his rookie season. The best that KJ "Tyreek Hill minus the off-the-field reputation" Hamler can do is 381 yards and 3 TDs.

In order for these players to live up to your lofty image of them, they're not looking at just a bump of a couple hundred yards and a TD or two that Hill and Kelce got from Mahomes-- they would each need ****ing miracle breakout seasons. You think Jeudy can be a legit #1 WR if he just has a QB? Well, he's going to need 500+ yards and any number of TDs more than 0. You think Fant can be in the same realm as Kelce and Andrews and even Waller? He needs at least 4 TDs and 400 yards just to match Kelce's "shitty" last year with Alex.

Like I said before, the Broncos offense is basically the 2011 Chiefs. Fans get encouraged by players like Tony Moeaki and Jonathan Baldwin-- guys who either show flashes or have expectations of being great because of where they went in the draft. Chiefs fans also had Steve Breaston to get excited about, and hell, you add that to established and productive guys like Jamaal Charles and Dwayne Bowe, and the Chiefs could really be something if they just had a real QB!

The only difference is that the 2011 Chiefs had guys on the roster with playoff experience and knew what it was like to do things like win a division and not lose 13 straight games to a single division opponent. Nobody on your team except your ****ing kicker knows what that's like.

Jeudy and KJ were only healthy during their rookie years, and Jeudy managed to get over 800 yards with Lock, Rypien, Hinton, and Jeff Driskell throwing him the ball. Tyreek only had 500 yards his rookie year.

Sutton has proven himself as a Pro Bowl caliber WR. Tim Patrick would be a damn good #2 WR on most teams in the league, he would've been perfect for KC actually. KJ is our speed guy. At worst KJ Hamler will be Mecole Hardman, and he has the ability to be a DeSean Jackson.

Lol.

Mecole Hardman, while not great, has basically averaged 600 yards and 4 TD’s per year with the Chiefs in his first 3 years.

I’d say at this point, Hamler’s ceiling is Mecole Hardman. His floor is . . . . . well, KJ Hamler.

Likely just another speedy underachieving WR that was drafted too high. Those guys are a dime a dozen in the NFL.

Desean Jackson ‘averaged’ nearly 1000 yards per season his first 3 years in the league. KJ Hamler will never be or even approach Desean Jackson. Maybe he can break out next year and achieve Mecole Hardman status. Unlikely, but it could happen.

Hey Blowmo, please list any additions whether draft or FA that you’ve been correct in your assessment of. Looks to me you’re batting about .000

Edit: from ESPN
The 2020 first-round pick's efficiency did not match his volume, as he dropped eight passes (second most) and his 46% catch rate ranked 86th out of 87 qualified WRs.

Dwayne Bowe had better production than Sutton at this point in his career with far worse crap throwing him the ball. I mean, congratulations on drafting a 1000 yard receiver and all, and I'm sure if you get Rodgers he'll be even better, but that's what I've been saying. Your only real player on your offense is Sutton.

Tyreek Hill was playing the WR position for the first ****ing time in his rookie season and he still got 500 yards. Why do you keep ignoring that? It's complete bullshit to look at Jeudy's 800 yards as a rookie and go, "Ah ha! He's on pace to be better than Tyreek Hill considering he doesn't have a QB and was injured for half of a season!"

And you said the same ****ing thing about Isaiah McKenzie as you are about KJ Hamler. Ten bucks says Hamler isn't even on your roster in two seasons.

We should petition the mods to AGAIN change the name of this thread (remember the old name of it? I’m struggling to remember it now, but a look into the beginning of the thread might be funny) to “Knowmo posts tweets and Madden-esqe ideas, and gets owned by not only Chiefs fans but Dungver fans too” thread.

Just an update:

Denver losing seasons in the past 5 years: 5
Denver playoff appearances (forget Super Bowl) in the last 5 years: 0

Kansas City losing seasons in the past 5 years: 0
Kansas City Super Bowl appearances in the last 5 years: 2

It's an absolute tragedy that the Chiefs only got 1 Super Bowl win out of Mahomes' rookie contract. The Broncos wouldn't have wasted it.
