*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

Mahomes - $53M per year ($265M for 5 years)
Lamar - $52M per year ($260M for 5 years)
Goff - $48.1M per year ($240.6M for 5 years)
Tua - $47.1M per year ($235.6M for 5 years)
Burrow - $44.3M per year ($310M for 7 years)
Lawrence - $43.8M per year ($306.6M for 7 years)
Hurts - $43.2M per year ($259.3M for 6 years)
Herbert - $42.3M per year ($296.25M for 7 years)
Allen - $35.57M per year ($284.55M for 8 years)

I would think Josh Allen is gonna demand a raise pretty soon, like Mahomes did last year. He can easily point to these other contracts and say that he's a more valuable player than some of these other dudes.
Yeah, Jordan Love and Tua just got Josh Allen a hefty raise.

On that original tweet, two things...

What Chiefs fan is salty about the Kermit thing? Pretty sure we collectively said "you done ****ed up" and laughed.

Also, why in the hell would we still be salty about that loss? I wouldn't change it if I could. I wouldn't change anything about a season where we were back to back champs. I mean I get bragging rights are few and far between, but he's doing it wrong.

Crazy to think that Mahomes only has 5 divisional losses and has 4 SB appearances lol. Almost more SB appearances than divisional losses.

Chargers- 2
Raiders- 2
Broncos- 1

I think we embraced the Kermit thing the moment he got here. We've got people here making Kermit Mahomes pfp's and memes. We don't care.

But there's one guy who does. And its the one guy you don't want to **** with.

I can hear the press conference after the Black Friday game:

Reporter: Has the Kermit puppet incident from training camp been handled now?

Mahomes: I think anytime you win a division game against a tough opponent, you feel good about your team. We've been getting better every week since training camp, but I will say that I was kinda looking forward to going deep to Worthy, seeing if Trey Taylor could walk the talk, but I guess now I will have to buy a UFL franchise and become a player/owner to find out.

Even the veteran Jared Goff still had 1 year of cheap money from his old deal. The older "cheap money" does not disappear when they sign a big money extension. When you include the cheap remaining money from the older contracts, pretty much all of these guys are below $50M per year.

Lamar Jackson is the only recent contract that is legitimately above $50M per year. Mahomes is also above $50M per year for 2023 to 2027. Josh Allen is the guy who should be screaming at his bosses to upgrade his salary compared to the other QB deals we have seen the last couple years.
