And if you're the coach, would you do that as a favor to your coordinator? Or does it make you look bad publicly?
Considering there are only 32 NFL coaching opportunities... most if not all would take the all when a team comes knocking. If that person really desires to be a coach. I don't know enough about Eric B though. Did he get the gig when or after Patrick showed up? Color me skeptical about him leading a team.

Yeah, it's hard to turn any opportunity down. But I could see a situation where a coordinator might not be enthusiastic about a job, but per the reasons you stated they can't turn it down. But I was wondering if that might be a graceful way to defer.

As far as Bienemy, I really find his role a bit mysterious. I don't know exacty what he does relative to Andy, and I have no idea if he's head coach material or not. For some reason I was thinking he had a stint as the University of Colorado's head coach, but I just looked it up and he was the offensive coordinator there. I've only seen a couple of interviews with him and I hate to say it, but he doesn't quite strike me as having a head coach aura about him. But what do I know? I would've said the same thing about Jerry Glanville and Barry Switzer.

I'm sure guys do defer from interviewing... for one reason or another.

And, I think there's something to the "be careful of the OC with a phenom QB". It really does not work out often when that OC becomes a HC with a new team.

Well, the last time the Chiefs had six years without playoffs was in 1985, so..... Imaging a 6 year old bronco fan in 2016, just learning about football. They are now 12 and haven't had anything but the Chiefs kicking donk ass for 6 years. They are lost to Denver now. I'm enjoying the shit out of it too. Cheating POS team

I mean, the players all say he’s outstanding for setting high expectations and motivating people. Watch any mic’d up spot with him (what few exist).

There are other things about him that he’ll need to figure out but in terms of leading a team? He’s pretty dang good at that already
