KU Cornell vs. Jayhawks - Page 27

On right now....kind of. JTV wasn't satisfied with using a camera with a vaseline smeared lense, now they made the game completely unwatchable. Add to it Gurley and Armstrong.....ugh.

Not watching, but KU up 7-4.

Aldrich did pretty well in the last 10 minutes. Several major blocks/shot changes and a big basket late.

Cornell is a good team, though. They had 9 road wins, were on a 10 game winning streak, and can shoot the three better than anybody else in the NCAA. KU clearly underrated them and were outplayed for 30 minutes of this game. Collins showed John Wall-like heroics, though, and won the game. I'm reasonably satisfied with his performance....Cornell is the kind of team that can definitely upset somebody in March.

Outside of Collins and Aldrich, though, it looked like the rest of them felt the pressure and struggled horribly. But to be honest...they need to have more of these situations in order to prepare them for the tournament...where the real pressure is.

You need to spend some time in the EMAW thread. They would really like you.

Interestingly enough.....listening to the Joe B. and Denny show this morning, they were much kinder to both KU and UK than you are. A UK fan called in trying to put down KU and they were complimentary to both teams.

But back to the topic at hand...

You said KU would never lose a game this closely...Cornell is good, but not that good. And KU had them at home and clearly should have dominated them....even other 'Hawks fans have acknowledged that it was closer than it should have been.

I don't hate UK (kind of hate their fans, I suppose), I just think they've been fairly unimpressive in most of the games I've watched when compared to some of the other top teams. The statistics (point differential, strength of schedule, offensive/defensive efficiency) bare that out.

I was wrong. I figured at least a 15 point win tonight. KU clearly overlooked them and everybody except Collins and Aldrich didn't deal with the pressure very well at all. Wins like this are more of a blessing in disguise than anything, though. Henry and the Morrises need to learn how to compete.
