From what I have seen here on the planet, your have a 2 part problem: 1. You don't have a place that you are comfortable meeting available ladies. 2. Ice breaking - When given an opportunity you lack the confidence, fear the rejection... something to that effect. I can't offer too much on the area of finding 'your place', that is a pretty individual thing. Some guys like bars, some like myspace, some like the library...some stick to the workplace (bad idea imo). Good luck either way.

Well. I just got my first rejection of the new year. I have a friend who i get along great with. He knows I'm going to try to lose a lot of weight. I asked him if he would consider dating me if I lost the weight. He said that he prefered short blondes, so no. Eh. He took it as a hypothetical, which I guess it was. I would definitely date him if he wanted to, so it stung a little to know I'll never stand a chance. Oh well. I've decided that I do want to start dating again. If nothing, just to get out and do stuff and meet new people. However, I'm not going to persue anything until after I lose the weight. That will give me some extra motivation. Hopefully, I can find someone who actually prefers brunettes.

Don't ask a man to date you IF you lose weight... good lord girl. If he likes who you are and he isn't completely shallow it shouldn't matter. You made yourself out to be not good enough as you are from the start that way. You put yourself in a "please accept me after I change for you" position. Thats bullshit. You have to know you're worth having for him to see it.

And any guy that won't date you because of your hair color....... you don't want.

I wouldn't date me right now. And I'm not changing for him. I'm changing for me. And the first state I just made explains part of why. If I'm not happy with myself as a whole, I can't expect someone else to be happy with me. And yes, I won't be persuing someone as shallow as that. It actually kind of surprised me. We hang out sometimes, and get along well. I guess we'd just never talked about dating type stuff before.
