Welcome to the 2010 ChiefsPlanet Mock Draft.

We have some new owners this year, so here's a quick run-down on the rules.

Each team will have 24 hours from the timestamp of the previous pick to make their selection. If your pick is not made within 24 hours, the next owner is free to make their selection.

The draft order is now final, with the exception of possible compensatory picks. As in past years, if the NFL announces an official list of compensatory picks BEFORE we finish the 3rd round, I'll add them in. If not, the draft order currently listed will remain. Any trades made in real life will NOT change the mock order from this moment on - personally, it's just too much work, and you run the risk of a pick being traded in real life after it's been made here in the mock.

If you think there is any chance you'll miss your pick, please try to send me a PM with a prioritized list of players - I'll select the highest priority player available from your list to keep things moving.

Please try to check in at least once a day, if not several times daily. We've never had an issue finishing 7 rounds in 6 weeks and I don't expect to have a problem this year - but it's up to you guys as owners to stay current.

When making your selection, please post the name, position and school of the player (follow Hamas' lead, he knows the drill - the correct format helps greatly when updating the header) and give a quick blurb about why you selected that particular player. Doesn't have to be a novel.

I'll be in class from 11:00 - 2:00, but I'll log back in to put Hamas on the clock at Noon.

There I was, in my lavish leather chair, scarved in my velvet robe with man-slippers wobbling loosely on my toes. Manhattan in one hand, olive in tact, and The New Yorker in the other. I was packing my corncob pipe with tobacco and flipping between my two most prestigious television programs, "Jersey Shore" and DVR'd episodes of "Glenn Beck." I can't stand this socialist hellhole!, but I love me some reality TV zazz.

I was celebrating because I had just picked Taylor Mays for the Broncos, and I was fairly certain that the excellence of that pick would stun a team of oxen dead in its tracks. Its effect would be even more drastic with a pathetic gaggle of draftnik wannabes like yourselves -- I mean, I had won the ChiefsPlanet Mock Draft a fourth year in a row, a feat that's NEVER ONCE been accomplished in the history of mankind! I was getting a blowjob from a conga-line of Bronco fans, while serenading them with "we're going to beat the hell out of you, you you you..."! (Let's just say Donk fans will put up with anything if you get them a centerfield safety.)

But I get a rude awakening in my PM box, which I was surprised to learn was not a congratulatory message on my Mock Victory.

It was from Archie Bunker. APPARENTLY we're still doing this thing. I guess even Angola played the Dream Team all four quarters, right?

Well get ready to get dunked on, bitches. The Vikes are up and they are PISSED. They can't BELIEVE they lost the NFC Championship to a team they outgained and outplayed.

Roger Goddell won't even come out to announce their pick. No, wait, not even that. The entire starting DL has actually shown up and shoved him into Charlie Weis' lunchbox. The Vikings, finally armed with a premier Mock Owner, aren't even going to bother announcing anything. I'm just going to point to the player I want and the boys will storm the Green Room to steal him away.

The decision shakes out to the two players that I believe are the best remaining on this board, both of them defensive tackles. Neither one will be able to aptly replace Pat Williams as a pure run-stuffer, but they can further bolster the defensive line and keep this team's defense better for longer. There are no cornerbacks or quarterbacks that I like here, and I actually dislike a shitton of the WRs I've seen this year.

Maurkice Pouncey is an option to solidify the one OL position I think is shit on this team, but centers come and centers go; defensive line is forever.

Odrick and Price are both penetrators in the mold of the other Williams brother, but in this case I think Odrick is the most adaptable. Odrick isn't a maxed out overachiever like Price is. Price is very limited to penetrating, Odrick has room to get even bigger than his 310 lbs body, and he can take a year while Pat plays his last year to get some of his anchoring down pat, which will naturally improve as he puts weight on.

I like the upside in this guy, so this is the direction I'm going, to even further solidify my victory.

The Minnesota Vikings select DT Jared Odrick, Penn State.

That's not a bad pick but the Vikings have to heavily consider CB because of what happened to Griffin.

There are guys available that are higher on my draft board. The Colts are going to have the luxury of drafting BPA for most of this draft. They do have one need that just recently came up with the release of Ryan Lilja. We're going to address it right now with a very versatile lineman that will start off at G, and could easily end up replacing Jeff Saturday in the next couple of years.

With the 31st pick in the 2010 NFL Draft the Indianapolis Colts select Maurkice Poncey C from Florida.

Possibly. They signed Alleman too. But they need help all across their line and Pouncey is a versatile guy that will end up replacing Jeff Saturday. He seemed like a no brainer here, although there were a couple of guys sitting out there that I really wanted to grab. Had Golden Tate still been sitting there I would've been faced with a huge decision. I think Tate and Manning would be crazy.

I would've loved to snag Kyle Wilson as well. I just thought Pouncey made the most sense for them right now.

I really thought about a corner here, but the one who had real value to me, Robinson, seems to be too risky of a selection. He's the most physically talented corner in the draft, but he has serious character and motivational concerns and doesn't play up to his ability.

Price was a monster in his three years at UCLA, particularly last year when he registered 7.5 sacks.

If I'm Spagnuolo, I can't count on Adam Carriker for anything. He was hurt last year and in 2008 played like garbage as a 3 technique. His most productive year was his rookie year, when he played nose.

Unforunately, this team has invested a lot of resources in DL, but none of them can rush the passer save for the decrepit Leonard Little. Getting Price here and putting him in at 3 technique will help out draft disappointment Chris Long, even if I think he's ideally suited as a left end.
