La'el Collins will sign as a free agent
According to Gil Brandt on Sirius/XM radio. He will sign with an NFL team and that means he'll pretty much play at a minimum contract.

Sounds like he's talking with investigators early next week.

Seems like a great spot to land.

High profile national spot light team. Decent line already. Gets to come in and add to it, if he does average or better espn will pimp the shit out of him. Then with the rest of the line making him look better he can get a huge FA contract compared to if he went to Buffalo.

There was no downside with him going there.

The only people who thought Collins was a guard were the ones who wouldn't have drafted him in the 1st anyways. His best season was at LT in 2013. I don't give a shit though. Just a curious, kind of dumb decision to me. It ain't my money.

He would have either had to switch to right tackle or guard in the NFL. Guards are higher paid than right tackles.

We could have had 3 1st rd picks for the price of 1.

- Peters obviously

- Should have drafted Gregory in the 2nd rd. Why would Dorsey not considering Houston is nowhere close to signing a deal w/ us, and Hali is a year older and slower. We have a top 10 pick that slips into the 2nd rd.

- Should have drafted Collins w/ a 7th rd pick knowingly he couldn't re-enter the draft and above all else...it's a 7th rd pick. If it doesn't work out, you cut him for nothing and you move on. I dont buy Dorsey's bullshit at all as to why they passed on him. Bottom line is you take the risk with the 7th rd pick. No risk, very high reward. That's a no brainer.

He could've reentered next year's draft had he refused to sign. Being undrafted is why he wasn't allowed too. That said, I agree with you. He's not going to take no money for a year and go 3rd round next year to get the same money. It was a **** up AFAIC that every team in the league made, so players coming out now that fall can just pull this shit and a precedent has been set.
