Tamba Hali

Has anyone seen him? His friends and family are worried.

What happened to our impact LB? The sack machine? The difference maker?

Heres a link to the url

If someone else can get part one to embed post it for me can ya, its a fairly decent interview IMHO.

I don't overrated him. My stance has always been that he's a solid player. Not pro-bowl quality, but a very solid starter. He just gets UNDERRATED by too many here.

Re Vrabel: It's not your money Dane and he's not breaking the bank so why so much ****ing bitching and moaning about it? 5 million anymore is chump change in the NFL.

If Hali beat his man with a speed rush, the qb could step up in the pocket every time to escape. If Hali used his above average balance to beat his man to inside leverage, the QB rolled to Vrabels side to escape every time. From there, all he had to do was throw away from Flowers and he was out of trouble and onto a career day.
THIS is what I watched all season. Hali CONSISTENTLY beat his man, only to have the QB step up into the pocket where there was ZERO PRESSURE, or he rolled to the other side where there was zero pressure. AS good as Derrick was, he had great players around him to help him as well. Hali is in fact best suited as an outside backer in this kind of scheme. However until we find a nose tackle that can collapse the pocket and/or someone who can bring pressure from the other side he'll never be able to "finish" because QB's simply move to that giant area where the center is and no Chief can be found. IT's that simple.

What the ****?

Where did I EVER state that he was anything other than a solid player that would play hard each and every down?

Your story is changing.

So, you equate stating a fact as bitching and moaning? What the **** is wrong with you?

Furthermore, Vrabel wastes a roster spot and likely will play before a younger player. Studebaker may never be a Pro Bowler either, but each and every time he's been the starter, he's been a playmaker.

Finally, re-signing Vrabel does nothing for the youth of this team, nor does it make it more talented.

I'm really beginning to question your views.

I strongly disagree with this statement. I dont think he is the guy he once was, and shouldn't be starting, but he does bring a necessary element to a young defense. Veteran leadership is highly underrated, especially if there is a major scheme change.

The things he says to young players in the locker room, in the weight room, etc...Mike may not be a elite player anymore, but he is an elite leader.

What evidence do we have of this?

I'm not saying it isn't true, but the only evidence I have seen makes it more questionable than not.

Well, I strongly disagree with your stong disagreement.

Vrabel doesn't attend OTA's. He doesn't attend mini-camps. If he was a TRUE leader in the locker room, he wouldn't miss a session.

Furthermore, he won't be there when the young players and rookies are there, so how can you definte that as "elite leadership"?

I never paid attention to the guy before he became a Chief. Was that just last year or is that his M.O? If that's how he rolls, then it will change my already restrained belief of his limited value to this team...

Honestly, I don't know.

I DO know however that last offseason, he said it was within his rights set forth in the CBA to sit out mini-camps and OTA's. He stated that the union bargained long and hard for those rights.

Personally, I would be disappointed (but not surprised) if he continued this practice.

I remember that too from last year but thought Haley gave an explanation for his absence, I could be wrong though.

Either way, the guy, along with about 8 other guys, should not be starting. If his roster spot is based on his leadership, then he should be at every meeting and workout, if not he should not be wasting a roster spot in my opinion...You lead by example.

I've always wondered about these things. It always seems like it's guys who are over the hill but producing at high levels who sit out these sessions. If they attend, are they then subject to the NFL's random drug testing policies at that time?

I've always wondered if these guys don't attend just so they can get their juice on for a few months longer.

It's amazing to me that guys like you (meaning underhanded, douchebag assholes) can insult me at will, yet ignore the insight that I sometimes offer in this forum.

For that, you should cover your eyes and stay in the dark.

Enjoy your meaningless existence.

No, you are absolutely right.

Haley gave an excuse, one which was universally passed over by the media.

Vrabel addressed it months down the road and once again, the KC media glossed over its significance.

If the Chiefs were a consistent 11-5, 12-4, 13-3, 14-2 team, I could overlook a guy like Vrabel skipping OTA's and minicamps.

But, they're not.
