OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

I dont think so but could happen if he doesn't win at least a couple of more SB's.

Even though Brady just retired, it was a different era. When Jordan got the title of GOAT, people were saying what about Jabbar and Russell that have twice as many championships. You have to have the rings, but thats not all that matters.

They were calling Jordan the GOAT before he even got his 3rd ring. Mahomes will have the same case as MJ as having the most dominant peak even if he doesn't catch up in rings.

Wilt had the issue of Russell winning a bazillion championships as his contemporary.

I think I remember both games. Super Bowl loss to Tampa and the 2021 smackdown we got from Tennessee.

He’s talking about regular season not playoffs

He’s 64-16

It’s the Tenn game 27-3
and Bills game 38-20

He did lose to Oakland by 8 points 40-32 the infamous round the bus game

2 7 point games
2 6 point games
1 4 point game
6 3 point games
2 1 point games

Playoffs

11-3

Tampa 31-9
NE 37-31. 6 points
Cin 27-24. 3 points

So 3 ganes out of 94 ganes

75-19

I remember that Bills game being bad but I never remembered the score. And yeah, the Raiders game was "technically" one score, but we just lost a shootout to poor defense against them.

Amazing to think in the last 5 years, those are the only bad beats we've ever taken. What an unreal time for Chiefs fans.

Yea and it’s easy to see for anyone that has watched football for a couple decades or so.
We just see every play and people that don’t watch all the Chiefs games don’t comprehend how CONSISTENTLY he is just bad ass. It’s like …ya know…always.

I have a friend who is a Brady lover. He concedes that Patrick is great and all, but he's no Brady...not yet. I'm like...dude...Brady won a lot, no doubt, especially SuperBowls. But damn...you have a kid who has absolutely destroyed all Brady's numbers to the same point in their careers...and if you watch the games...come ON man...

...but, for many we will just have to wait for the end of Mahomes' career for everyone to truly wake the **** up and realize that this man, Mahomes, is beyond a doubt the absolute greatest player in NFL history bar none. What a time to be a fan of the Chiefs...

The Brady fans don't care about the end of anybody's career unless it ends with 8 SBs unfortunately.

They're deep in the religion of Tom and won't let that one go.

This was a question that got circulated around every sports show after Mahomes won his 2nd SB: "Does Mahomes have to match or surpass Brady in SBs to take his title away as the GOAT by the time he's done with his career?"

The very fact the question is even being asked pretty much signals that Brady has already lost, and Mahomes is the better player regardless of how many Super Bowls he has. They won't say it, but it's people going, "Well, there's this superior QB, but just because he doesn't have a horseshoe up his ass and doesn't resort to cheating, he might not win as many SBs, so.... shouldn't there be some way to say he's just ****ing better end of story?"
