*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

Joe is only a year younger than Pat, 14 months. And has done so, so much less in his NFL career. Will he ever get a single MVP or SB win?

Sources say: unlikely.

But he can always be the other guy in the argument, the dude in Pat's shadow for the next decade and that ought to bring him comfort.

Switch quarterbacks, Mahomes with those weapons might go undefeated. Burrow with our SB roster may not make the playoffs.

Burrow is good no doubt. He is on a HOF path. If he retired today he would not be in the HOF.

Mahomes is better and is on a Greatest to Ever Play The Position path. He could retire today and very likely be a HOFer if not a first ballot HOFer.

Mahomes is a threat to the old guard. He plays a style very different than most of the old school QBs and doing it better than they did with their style. That is unnerving because he's doing things everyone was taught to NOT do and he is paving the way for a new style of QB coming up. Kids are growing up to be the next Mahomes, not the next Carson Palmer. Burrow is the last of a dying breed of the pure pocket passer.
Very well put. In fact it is very reminiscent of a Pat Conroy (The Great Santini, The Lords of Discipline, etc) book called "My Losing Season."

Another thing being overlooked is that Mahomes had more passing yards and TD passes and fewer INTs last year than Burrow. Burrow's top 3 receivers were: Chase, Higgins, and Boyd. Mahomes top 3 receivers were: Kelce, JJSS, MVS. Not sure how Burrow is better than Mahomes in any respect.

But more on Burrow. Want to blame the OL issues for Burrow's last loss? Okay. Then why is he so pedestrian in the regular season? He's got enough riches on offense to make Solomon blush, and the guy is never even ****ing close to MVP numbers, nor does he put his team in a position to challenge for most wins in the conference.

Burrow reminds me of Brady only without the ****ing horseshoe up his ass.
Bengals fans seem to think it’s the lack of a full offseason. His rookie year was COVID, sophomore season was recovering from the ACL injury, and this latest offseason was interrupted by an emergency appendectomy.

Weak excuse but we will see how this offseason goes. The Ravens are dysfunctional so now is the time for them to step up.

You have to think Reid could’ve found some really creative ways to get the ball to Hall in space

I really like Joe Burrow. This is unfair of the media to make him a failure because that is what’s going to happen. He will never be better Pat.

Best QB in the league (as per Palmer) doesn’t get those excuses. You are correct, they are weak.
