Pat probably got that losing streak in the beginning of the season stuck in his head and it just got worse from there.

I still put the loss at 80% Pat and 20% coaching staff. I know that for his short career that Reid has always said that he’ll let Pat pass himself out of a funk but at some point you have to pull him aside and adjust.

And I don’t think that’s the Pat we get moving forward. But everyone should be aware that the dude isn’t a literal God. He’s going to have bad games. And that wasn’t the first one of his career. He looked like shit against the Titans and he had some other halves that were almost as bad.
I wouldn't go quite that far.

Patrick is a literal God.

But even Gods have their off days. Remember that whole 'Eve' thing?

Women and the 2nd half against the Bengals are what happen when Gods get in a funk.

He’s about as close as a QB is going to get but the fact still remains. Gods can bleed.

And no one wants to give any credit to the Bengals defense. I said during the season that the Bengals were a lot like the 2018 Chiefs but they ended up being more like the 2019 Chiefs. That defense stepped up in the playoffs and it almost got them a championship. They played their asses off.

Yeah, a pretty brutal half at the worst time, after a generally frustrating year.

And I'll excuse 1 bad half for 4 years of some of the greatest QB play of all time, ever. He'll bounce back, it's whatever.

Shit, I mean we all thought Brady was done-done after he threw a terrible pick-six in a terrible game in the playoffs to end his New England career. One game is pretty small in the grand scheme.

Tom Brady threw to bags of microwaved dog shit with cleats for years. Sometimes you just have to figure out how to work with what you have.

The non-throw to Hardman was completely inexcusable. The Robinson one wasn't great either. And frankly, trust doesn't explain the fact that he had Kelce for the win and another conference championship. It was a throw he's made a dozen times.

Guy got mind-****ed. When he 'doesn't trust' Travis Kelce - then it ain't Travis Kelce he doesn't trust.

When you wake up in the morning and the first person you see is an asshole, that guy was probably an asshole. When you wake up in the morning and the first FIVE people you see are assholes, then YOU'RE probably the asshole.

Patrick Mahomes was the asshole in that game. It wasn't that he didn't trust Hardman or Robinson because lord knows he'd never lose trust in Kelce.

Kid didn't trust himself anymore. And it's hard to put a finger on why. You just figure that it's happened to everyone in this game and you move along.
The Bengals were mixing and matching defenses well, sure.

But the guy just vapor locked. It was wild.

I think it stems from the "run around and make plays" mentality. Stand in the pocket and throw the ball.

It usually happens when he thinks that he has to go hero ball to win the game. He’s still learning to take what defenses give him. He can do it but he still has moments where his mind tells him that everything is riding on him and he has to win the game.

The #Chiefs have signed CB Luq Barcoo, according to his agency, @SynergySportInt.

Barcoo played three games in 2020 for the #Jaguars, and spent time on the #49ers & #Cardinals practice squads last season. #ChiefsKingdom
