Yeah, this is him from a KC Star article:

He had 24 drops in 44 career college games at SMU. He does this. It is part of the package. And he’s even identified why it’s part of the package. “I’m known for running after the catch — yards after the catch — so I’ve just gotta figure out a way for me to fix trying to take off before I have the ball in my hands,” he said.

Maybe this is a little too bold… but for those looking for value at WR, is it possible we consider really smart guys with slightly less athleticism for x/y and then continue to round out our WR depth with pure athletes and specialists?
Any blanket statement generalizing an entire position group league wide is hooey.

Each individual is their own case. Each offense, each coaching staff, each organization.

For every guy who lights it up day one, there are a dozen that take a while to adjust.

Jerry Rice wasn't Jerry Rice day one.

Now maybe none of these guys become plus players, but deciding that five games into year one is nuts, and I still don't see Veach and Andy going 0 for 4 on the position.

Moore isn't showing anything, but Rice is, and Toney's only problem is injury, and Ross showed us what a 6'4" receiver can bring. Let's let it play out.

Meanwhile, Smith-Marsette can't even see the field for Carolina with 1 reception for 1 yard, yet the grass-is-always-greener crowd is probably still crestfallen we let that one get away in favor of Justin Watson.

To be fair, Bryce Young can’t see ISM over his OL…..

He doesn't have to look over his OL to see him. He can just glance over to the sideline given that the guy has averaged 2 snaps per game.

I have zero issue with letting Ross and Rice play it out. But I also believe that these 2, particularly rice, have that “feel” I never saw in mecole and don’t see with skyy. Rice makes a lot of the wrong adjustments but you can see early on he just has a natural feel for the position. I think to o.city’s point while you can learn some of this, there’s also a lot to instinct and feel that you either have it or you don’t

He's gonna be fine. So will Toney.
Yeah the drops will improve. And its probably expected for players in new roles and rookies to experience some drops because they are thinking their way around the field. I have a little more confidence Toney will go on a run more than I am that Moore will become anything. Rice will DEFINITELY improve his drop rate. Rice is our dog.

Dude any decent WR will produce with Mahomes. Because Mahomes is a god. And Andy can scheme. If you put Smith Marsette on this roster instead of Justin Watson I doubt anything would be a ton different. We would likely be a little worse but the gap between a decent vet like Juju and Watson is waaaaaay bigger than it is from Watson to ISM.

Ya the dude needs to play. New guys are gonna have drops. His heartbis beating a million miles an hr just trying to run a route hes ran a million times. The more use he gets will lessen his tendency to drop passes.

And yet JuJu is accomplishing nothing in New England. Maybe he's not even a decent vet anymore.

Either the league needs to update their stats to show 34 drops in 5 games for Rice, or you need to update your username to "I'mAButtEffingMoron".

Juju would have accomplished little in New England last season. And he had almost 1,000 yards here. I doubt he completely forgot how to play overnight.
