Absolutely no point in stating that.

Actually you weaken your stance since TLJ received a higher percentage than most films.

This film made mad profits. Highest grossing film of the year. You can't ask for anything more.
Actually, it is different from most films.

But it was profitable.

I think Disney is going to have a stronger reaction to Rian Johnson possibly screwing up the entire franchise than how much it did (or didn’t) make...

No it's not. Theatre chains split ticket sales with the studios on almost every movie.

On average, North American exhibitors pay between 50-60% of box office in film rental, with blockbusters regularly hitting the upper end of that percentage. To put this in perspective, film rental in international territories averages 40%.
The only difference is that in this case, TLJ received MORE of the profits. Getting 65% of the revenue is HUGE.

Dane has no point here. It's bullshit.

You are full of ****ing shit.

All majorly released films are split between theaters and studios.

Unless you're stupid enough to come in here and insinuate that piddle-ass little theaters are taking money from Disney's blockbusters but not from your average piece of shit romantic comedy.

You. Have. No. Point.

**** off with your bullshit, or show me a film that took home MORE than 65% of box office receipts.

All you have is ad hominem. I've been bringing FACTS for weeks.

Not "people" it's really just Dane. And i don't even think Dane would argue with my paraphrasing here. It's simplified no question, but that's the gist.

**** Reboot Forever.

The two above statements are EXACTLY how I feel about this movie. I'm sure there are elements regarding Luke's characterization that Hamill didn't enjoy, agree with, or more than likely SEE at the time of filming in regards to the overall presentation and arc of the character, but by God he took what was given, and absolutely KILLED it.

I'm hoping that regardless of who directs 9, that we can benefit from the push/pull tension between two differing artists that are striving to create a cohesive whole. I liken it to some of the best bands who were well known for having enough differences to create a productive tension that produces the immortal second album, the one that no other outing will ever touch as it was a perfect blend of right place, right time, and a perfect alignment of all the disparate elements coming together.

This will be the first Star Wars film that I will not purchase on DVD/BluRay/Digital and it's extremely likely that I'll never watch it again. My enthusiasm for Episode IX is at an all time low and I'm expecting Solo to suck so bad that Disney will be forced to make changes at Lucasfilm.

This new trilogy has completely sucked the life out of me as a Star Wars fan, so much so that I couldn't give a rat's ass about the final 7 episodes of Star Wars Rebels or any new Star Wars television properties.
Damn.

Wow, dramatic drop in the box office... divisiveness with fans... I'm surprised that Star Wars was able to survive at all after Ep V. And then again after Ep I.

Dane gave all sorts of reasons for his position. For you to boil it down to that one was completely misleading.
