Seeing as Bearcat banned me from the KU basketball thread for daring to use statistics to dispel the constant trashing of the team’s best player this year by far, I’ll need somewhere to put my thoughts for this year’s tournament.

In sum, the committee screwed KU again. Their resume (and wins) should have had them at at least a 6 seed and maybe even a 5. Arkansas is also the toughest matchup they could have had among possible opponents and KU matches up horribly against them (stay tuned as to why).

As far as the rest of the tournament goes, I’m picking Houston to win it all and Kentucky (fraud) to lose in the first or second round.

Man I'm listening to the talking heads, and they're talking about you can't tell when he had total possession of the ball and took his steps. And I'm wondering WTF they're looking at?? Not only is that false, you can clearly see it in real time, and especially if you put it in slow motion. I guess they think if enough people "who know" say it, they can get people to doubt themselves. Who knows? All I know was that by every defination before today's, it was traveling.

Having said that, it's a prime example of why teams that lose games on plays like that, need to do more in those games beforehand, to not leave the outcome in the hands of the refs. That's in every sport.

No. They're on the same side of the bracket. They would meet in the Elite 8.

It wasn’t a travel. It was 2 steps and he dribbled on what seems like the first step.

The bigger error is there still should have been .2 or .3 left on the clock for CSU. Almost no time, but still.

Agree to disagree. Imo, 100% travel and its not that close... 10 years ago, before all this "Euro Step" BS, that has infiltrated the NBA, and is trying to make its way to college basketball, I bet many would have a different interpretation.

No shit, I meant they both look great so the survivor of that one might ultimately cut down the nets. Duke looks damn good too, unfortunately

It's noteworthy that it's all pre-2012 SEC teams, too... obviously as conferences get larger, records like that will get broken more frequently (especially when you let in 14 teams, even if they went 6-12 in conference

), but I believe the 2012+ acquisitions went 1-4 the first weekend, too.

Correct.

The most recent addition that won over the weekend was Arkansas, who joined in the early 90’s.

Oh. Gotcha...Man, I totally misread your post. Sorry...Yes, they do. I had Tech as my sleeper team, and Florida survived "that game" that many champions point to as being critical in their quest to win it all...And Duke definately looks like the team to beat. After them, you got about 4 or 5 that could win it, makes no difference on any seeding.

Great....more of the "old guard" SEC banter. Not enough hearing it down here in FL when it comes to Football, now we have it in Basketball.

To be fair, the only programs worth a shit historically for basketball based on success from the old guard SEC are Kentucky, LSU, and maybe Alabama.

Florida has no notable history prior to Kruger and Auburn and Tennessee success is all within the last 20 years.
