Holy shit, you're being beyond disingenuous.

I asked the question for a second time, you quoted it, and clearly provided an answer.

Just stop.

That was your RB room for OTAs and Preseason. Snagging up Perine after roster cutdowns was a nice salvage and Hunt was a nice redemption story for a little while there.

Saying Veach was interested in Josh Jacobs doesn't even make sense in the context of your question. The answer to your question would be Saquon Barkley just on the premise us having him means Philadelphia doesn't and they may not have made the Super Bowl without him so we're playing s different team that doesn't just hard counter us.

Probably should've read the post above where he literally admitted before that he was answering that question:

Quote:

Those are the key words there. He was clearly answering MY question with that Veach/Jacobs answer. He said it himself, and now he's backtracking.

Better luck next time bundle of sticks.

I'd be willing to offer him Cosmi's deal. And like I said, even THAT would be an overpay, IMO. But it's close enough to Creed's deal that I've made a solid effort and should he say yes, I can tolerate it.

I still think it would be a mistake, but it's absolutely as far as I'd go.

Because again, EVERYONE has all that found cap space and we work in a zero sum market when it comes to free agency. So just burning it on a player because you have it doesn't make sense when there are OTHER players it can easily be used on.
Yeah. You have to overpay if you want the first wave of FA. Trey is the perfect example of someone who is good, plus player, but he’s not elite and that’s what you’re paying.

Veach’s quote about Mahomes trust in protection sticks out to me. I think they want to keep the guy they feel are good and to raise the floor of the OL overall.

That’s why I think they’re gonna get a FA LT. I don’t think they want another project LT, especially from this class. I bet Mahomes doesn’t want that either after what he went through with Wanya/Kingsley either.

I get it. Paying Trey is not exactly the most appealing thought, but I get the logic. The floor for this offense has been ****ing terrible the last 2 years.

I get the money aspect, but they have future money. I’m starting to think the consensus is to add veterans on offense and primarily replenish the defense through the draft since it’s clearly the overwhelming strength of the draft.

Also this FA class ****ing sucks. Trey Smith is the best FA on many of these sites. That’s how bad this class is, and I think that’s absolutely factoring in here. It’s not the end of the world.

If they sign him. Fine. If he leaves? Fine. I just think this is different. Like the guy getting paid is not Frank Clark 2.0 like I think many here will treat it as.

The Eagles and Packers benefitted so much from the “RB’s aren’t difference makers anymore” thought around the league.

It makes sense due to positional value, but I still can’t believe Gabe Davis got paid more than Saquon Barkley

Pop is a great player and very good athlete for where he was drafted, but he's always been a square peg in a round hole. Kareem coming back really exposed that because he's so good at all the little nuances elite RBs need to be good at. I don't know how long Pop has played RB, but it's like he never played RB until some point late in HS or College when someone was like "this guy is a hell of an athlete. We need to get him on the field. "Hey let's try RB" and he was fast and strong enough to make it work out ok. Whereas Kareem looks like he's a RBs son and has had every little nuance beat into his head for 15 years or so. The difference between the two with the little things RBs need to do is just astonishing.

Hell even the end of the Bills game when Pop gets that huge 3rd conversion that should've sealed the game...he goes OUT OF BOUNDS. Does anyone on this board think Kareem goes out of bounds there? HELL NO!

Well, I know this thread turned into quite the cockfight today, but let us not forget we all want the same thing here and that’s for the Chiefs to shove it up everyone else’s ass next season.

My goodness have I already had enough of the parading around celebrating their demise. You can’t go anywhere without a flood of comments that “they’ve been exposed, it’s over, no good anymore”…

If they don’t come out ready to **** face this year and get the job done from the get-go… going to be very disappointing.

With or without Trey Smith.

Wouldn’t be mad at all if the Chiefs solved all of their problems on offense but RB in FA and then picked 3 defensive players to start with that stud RB at 95.

This draft is so damn good there you could legitimately get a starting DL, LB and DB with those early picks then get your stud RB at 95.
