I find it hard to go after Storr as a player when there pretty clearly is stuff going on behind the scenes that is impacting everyone. The unfortunate fact is that all the transfers outside of Coit maybe have been worse than they were last year. Mayo has been good at home but terrible on the road. Griffen has been erratic at best. Storr could play 16 minutes or 3 depending on ?? Moore is probably the strangest, going from the heart and soul of the tough defensive team that held UCF and Cincy to low numbers but then was suddenly benched(?) and now barely plays at all unless it's very spot minutes or a blowout.

Reading the Vernon article about how people are frustrated that roles aren't defined, that certain players are given favoritism, and that they don't trust Self, makes complete sense. Even the fans on this board don't trust Self. So while Storr hasn't been good, I don't totally put the blame on him for what has happened.

I should have bet the farm on BYU last night. Might be a while before the bookies offer free money like that again.

Weirdest years were upon my graduation when Ryan Robertson was probably the best player on the floor. Two weird years between the Jacque, Raef, Pollard, Pierce teams to the Boschee, Gooden, Hinrich, Collison teams…

Bill took over, got us into the Elite 8 first year with a weird mix of his players/style and Roy’s boys. Should’ve been a final four team if not for Jacks going apeshit in the best GATech team ever.

Then we saw Bill have some solid couple years, but shit the bed in the tourney, Bucknell, Bradley were bad. And people wanted Bill fired. But then he got the recruits, and we won a championship in a miraculous way in ‘08, a game where many would say Bill outcoached Calipari and Memphis went soft. This team also boatraced Roy in the FF, which exorcised some demons among dipshit jealous fans for Roy.

Great teams for the past 15+ years since, and another Natty, plus the Covid year when that team was actually the best team I’ve seen since ‘08.

We’re in strange territory, because all those stories and memories don’t seem like they mean a damn thing.

This team was loaded to begin the season. We played big. We beat good/great teams. And then we dumped our first game in the Big 12 season to WV. And we just keep dumping. No significant injuries….

The whole damn team has regressed, the lineup stinks, Bill is tap-dancing, and the whole world sees this team as completely dysfunctional and the coaches have lost the locker room.

So be it.

Let this be a learning lesson to Bill and the staff going forward. And I hope Bill is ready to coach again and maybe this team can do “anything” going forward, but if it’s really as shitty as it sounds, I say flush it. And if I’m Bill, I continue to lip service and move on. Let this team embarrass themselves and Bill will take it, and hopefully no more dipshit October speeches about how it’s been too long since we won a Natty, and Coach and let these ****ers play. Bill can coach, but this is weird.

I dunno, I’m rambling…
LOL! "Rambling!" Its ok. Everyone does that when trying to understand KU basketball this season.

The best thing that could happen for this team in the next month is KJ and Dajuan both getting hurt. And that’s a sad thing to type out

I had $100 split between DK and FD on BYU. Easy money.

Been fading KU for about 6 weeks now. That's all about to end, unfortunately.

That was the dumbest shit ever... I remember trying to talk sense into a few people, given Self was working with Williams' recruits and trying to force his defense-first system onto guys who wanted to fly up and down the court. Just two opposite styles that didn't work well, and some games they'd look like a Williams team and other times a Self team, and sometimes that would change within the same game.

I didn't love the hire at the time since all I knew was all-offense/little-defense and tournament flameouts on bad shooting nights, but people jumping off the ledge before he could even prove himself with his own players was asinine.

And overall, whatever... we've been really damn spoiled as KU & Chiefs fans in recent years and one thing KU has avoided, as opposed to the likes of Kentucky and UNC, is missing the tournament. And even if they've looked like shit in the tourney a few times lately, they still have a Natty and Covid Natty to show for it.

There's been a ton of change to the game with NIL and the transfer portal, they'll figure it out once these uninspired scrubs leave.

At least as it pertained to KJ, I actually told my friend exactly this statement yesterday as the game was going on. Our only chance at turning this around may be him getting hurt again.

Not wishing injury on anybody and this team has plenty of other issues at this point (least of which is the players actually giving a shit again) but it's pretty clear that a lot of our problems stem from one issue: we're playing a guy who would be playing spot minutes for any other coach on a top tier team 35 minutes a game over a NBA-level big on the bench.

We were really forming an identity with him as a tough defensive team in the early part of conference season. Any semblance of that fell apart after the Houston collapse and Moore's minutes deteriorated after that game too (granted, he made a really stupid foul that contributed to that collapse which may be part of why Self has turned on him but that meltdown was mostly on Mayo). He played 20+ minutes in 6 consecutive games before that and hasn't played above 15 since then.

IMO he needs to be playing more given that he's not a bad shooter and actually plays defense (he might be the only player on the roster currently capable of doing both) but Self has lost trust in him.

Moore's been dealing with injuries. Mayo's been great. Better than expected. Coit's been about as good as you could expect. Griffen I think was overrated by a lot of people. He's a pretty good shooter that offers little else. Storr is the only transfer that's baffled me this year. I knew he wasn't the most efficient scorer or greatest defender, but I still expected a much bigger impact.

It's fair to question some of Self's decisions and lineups this year, but it's not fair to pretend like they'd be destroying worlds if he cut Harris's/KJ's minutes a bit. Sounds like some of the players are being prima donnas and need to look in the mirror and take accountability.

Destroying worlds? No. Able to run some semblance of an offense? Yes, I think so.

There is no spacing for anyone in the half court because the opposition simply doesn't guard KJ Adams. Imagine a world where Dickinson isn't immediately doubled or tripled on the catch? Would be nice to see it before the season's over but it won't happen.
