I have a customer who owns 5 Mexican Food Cafes here in the Phoenix area. The past few years we've reprinted their menus 6 times...always to accommodate higher prices. Their typical cost now is about $18.00 per entree...Mexican food.

On a personal note I stopped by a McDonald's today and paid $4.96 for a large order of fries. There's got to be a breaking point for most folks.

My surgeon doesn't do lap bands anymore, they're kind of complicated and they don't always work the best.

PS: almost forgot, I ended up losing about 110 total pounds. If I had to guess (my memory is fuzzy, it was 4 years ago now), I lost about 40 pounds of that prior to surgery because I had to be on a special diet for a month prior or they wouldn't do my surgery. The other 70 pounds came off in the first year after I had it done.

When I get a salad it has a pound of ham, cheese, egg, and a shitload of dressing.

The steak is probably healthier.

I had to quit going to Chipotle... throw in a bunch of cheese, guac, sour cream... you can inhale one in several bites, and yeah it's like 1500 calories or more.

I've never eaten one. But there's a Mex place near where I work, and I've seen the things. Easily enough food there to divide into a couple meals.

Cool. Good for you for addressing the problem.

At my high school reunion, I saw a female friend who'd had that surgery done. She wasn't particularly overweight in high school but you could see that she was built to become overweight. At every reunion she got bigger, and she finally did the one of those surgeries a few years ago (not sure of the details) and now looks pretty healthy again.

Yeah, some of it tastes pretty good, but health-wise you might as well eat a half-slab of ribs with extra BBQ sauce and a side of mashed potatoes with extra gravy.
