Original thread was getting to large for the board

2011 WS Championship
2012 one win from another WS
2013 two wins from another WS title
2014 Central Division title and NLCS series win (so far)

This is a franchise that has made the postseason 10 times in the last 14 seasons.

Only 1 losing season since 2000.

Reached the World Series 4 times since 2004 and won as many championships (two) the past eight seasons as it did from 1965 to 2005.

Our new Manager has more post season experience than any other manager in baseball, except the Giants manager.

Made the NLCS 8 times

Three million attendance? Take it to the bank.

60 post season wins since 2004. 20+ wins more than any other team.

honestly, I couldn't do it...I mean, I'm a lifelong cards fan that has almost always rooted for the royals, but in the last couple months I've almost fallen in love w/this years kc team. don't think anyone can stop them now.

1. Madison Bumgarner is a terrific pitcher, and the Cardinals will likely have a tough time trying to solve him in Game 5. But here's a scoop: Bumgarner is human. He does struggle at times. He does lose games. And, believe it or not, he has a surprisingly high career postseason ERA in home games. Now, keep in mind that all of this is pulled from the small-sample file, and may be essentially meaningless.
However ...
• In nine career postseason starts, Bumgarner is 5-3 with a 2.67 ERA. The Giants have gone 6-3 in his starts. You'll notice the three losses there.
• In NLCS Game 1 two years ago at AT&T Park, the Cardinals pounded Bumgarner for eight hits and six earned runs (and two homers) in his abbreviated start that lasted 3.2 innings. They beat the Giants 6-4 in that one.
• In the NL division series that same year, Bumgarner lasted only 4.1 innings and was bopped for seven hits and four earned runs.
• The Giants lost once (by a 4-1 score) to Washington in the 2014 NLDS, and Bumgarner was the losing pitcher in that Oct. 6 game. He pitched well, but committed a two-run throwing error in the game's pivotal episode.
• Not that the losses have been all of his fault, but the Giants are 3-3 in Bumgarner's last six postseason starts.
• This is the one that surprises me: in his postseason starts at AT&T Park, Bumgarner is 1-3 with a 5.06 ERA. Only two of the five have been quality starts.
My point here isn't to declare that the Cardinals will come out and punish Bumgarner for six runs in three innings tonight. But we've all praised the Giants' lefty so much — justifiably so — that it's easy to view him as invincible. That isn't the case. But if Bumgarner is vulnerable in Game 5, the Cardinals have to take advantage of it.

Again not a knock on the Cards fans on this board, but I have found it quite ironic that a bunch of Cardinals fans are complaining about the Royals bandwagon this year.

I leave for UCM's Homecoming tomorrow and our fraternity's 60th Anniversary,a large portion of my frat brothers are the reason I can't stand the ****ing Cards because back in '82 they did nothing but bash KC,the fans the team etc.

I can't wait to roll into the bar tomorrow sporting my Royals gear.

All I've said was that all of my Red Sox fans friends are now hard core Royals fans. I just think it's funny.

I would think that the Royals fans who've actually supported the team, like you and the people who posted in the Royals threads for years, would be a bit miffed by a bunch of fans that only started showing up in late September.

Where I live in Mid-Missouri its expected for the jump between the two among the casual fans. It happens all the time which ever side of the state with the hot team. So it really doesn't bother me a bunch.
