The fun part for me watching all these people lose their shit is knowing that the smaller percentage of those people that understand the game a little better are going to become really depressed when they realize two things....

- The Chiefs were never in danger of losing that game, and that had nothing to do with the refs or any of the calls

- The Chiefs' special teams unit won that game. Not their defense that has carried the team all year, not playoff Mahomes pulling rabbits out of his hat at exactly the right moment, but the damned special teams.

We always hear about "team wins". Last night was as clear of an example of a team win as we've had in recent memory for the Chiefs in a playoff game. This team knows how to do that, and that fact is what should have people upset.

The helmet to helmet was soft , but it was definitely crown of the helmet to the face as on Mahomes. As was said earlier, they unfortunately piled on from the angle that was from behind, and failed to acknowledge from the side view that there was in fact helmet to helmet contact

Not sure about the “flop” video. Mahomes didn’t even whine, just sprinted to the sideline. Who knows what actually happened

The “slide” was a tough call and I would probably be frustrated if the jerseys were changed. It definitely looks like they were trying to lead with the helmet, but there really was so little contact and the slide, or whatever it was, was late.
Ironically, the player that really lead with his helmet and had an opportunity to pull up blasted his own player. I don’t think he even touched Mahomes.

I think the idea that Mahomes whines more than any other QB is absolutely false, and Mahomes takes hard hits frequently. I think there are videos devoted to it.

I agree and have a question to add to the mix.

It seems that everyone outside of Chiefs fans believes that Mahomes and the Chiefs get all the calls. "You can't breathe on Mahomes without getting called for a personal foul." If they all believe this, then why are they lowering their heads/helmets when they try to tackle him? I mean, if you know that you're on thin ice going after Mahomes anyway, then why are you doing something that makes it much more likely to get called out for it?

And another just for good measure. If Mahomes gets all the calls, then why didn't the refs throw a flag for unnecessary roughness on that play going out of bounds? If they're willing to take the heat in so many other instances, then why not take the heat on that one too?
