La'el Collins will sign as a free agent
According to Gil Brandt on Sirius/XM radio. He will sign with an NFL team and that means he'll pretty much play at a minimum contract.

Sounds like he's talking with investigators early next week.

They can get an extension after 2 years and only have 3 year deals, not 4.

In fact, now that his first 3 are FULLY GUARANTEED, being an UDFA is better than being a 3rd round pick. I kid you not.

yea if they are in pass protection. If they are run blocking they would blow our front seven off the ball 5 yards even though they have terrible RBs that would get nowhere.

The only way he really loses out is if he would've been drafted top 15. But even then, if he proves his merit the first two years he'll get an extension that will probably pay him more than Jameis' rookie deal.

He gets $1.65M guaranteed and has two full years to prove he's worth a long term contract.

He's in a great spot and the Cowboys are in a great spot because this contract ensures this dude has to WORK to end up getting his millions.

So he'll make $1.6 million (+ incentive bonuses) for the first 3 years. Then if he's any good....they'll give him the highest RFA tender which should be around $2.5 million for 1 year.....and then he gets to hit FA for a big contract. Sounds like a raw deal.
