*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

Nah.

Look, every year QB's are taken high. And a lot of teams keep going back to the well (and they should. If you don't have an elite QB, you're not going anywhere, so better keep fishing.) And these guys are CONSENSUS top picks, with all of the tools to succeed. And yet...so few do.

Far more Trubisky's than Mahomes's. Why is that?

SITUATION is not everything, but it's a lot.

Mahomes went to the perfect spot for him, with Andy Reid, and these weapons. He sat a year, and learned. It was perfect. Stable team, offensive genius head coach, learn from a seasoned pro. Perfect.

A lot of guys get ruined before they ever get a chance. Lots of guys with huge arms wash out on lousy teams.

The really truly smart ones usually make it if they don't get physically damaged or shell-shocked from playing on shit teams with lousy offensive lines-like Alex Smith and the 49'ers. Smith was never really the same after that shoulder injury.

We've seen Mahomes get into some bad habits from time to time. If he was in a place without superior coaching and surrounding talent, we'd probably see a lot more of that.

Anyway, doesn't matter, he's ours and everyone else can eat a dick.

Nice play by the Steelers guy to knock it out. But a pretty awesome throw by Patrick. Hope he can keep that kind of accuracy going the rest of the season.

Minkah Fitzpatrick is legit. I really, really wanted us to be the one trading for him a few years ago. Happy with Mathieu, but still....

They would have traded the pick that became CEH for him. Would have worked out OK in hindsight...

Lol mahomes is the goat of 2020’s and will be for the next 20 years.

I agree with a few posts here… he landed in a perfect spot to succeed, but even more so, I think he would have still been a baller anywhere else, it just would have taken longer. Falling To us and sitting behind smith and Reid for a year clearly helped him. However I think if Aaron goes to the 49ers, he has more Super Bowls than the 1 he has with the pack, make sense?
