I just saw the movie Yesterday this afternoon, about a musician who gives up after 10 years of playing small clubs in Britain. While riding his bike home, there is a 12 second blackout in the entire world. He is hit by a bus on his bike during the blackout. When he awakens he in the hospital. A week or so later, his friends give him a sort of party and present him with a new guitar since his was smashed. He said, a new guitar deserves a great song, so he plays the Beatles Yesterday and nobody knows the song. He thinks they're pulling his leg until he goes home and googles the Beatles and all that comes up are insects.
He realizes the world does know any Beatles music, so he begins playing all the Beatles songs and the fans are going crazy. He is signed to a recording contract and within a month, he is opening for Ed Sheerin. He suddenly becomes the greatest recording artist of all time. I won't tell anymore, but if you're a Beatles fan, go see this movie. I gave it an 8 out of 10. My theater was packed and the show before and after had huge lines going in. Here he is singing "Help" before thousands on a beach in England as his new double album is released. Everyone in the film is British except for Kate Mckinnon of SNL who plays his sleazy manager. |

Apparently there's a new Charlie's Angels movie coming out with butch Kristen Stewart in it. Wild.

"Bailey, part of the R&B duo Chloe x Halle, has nabbed the starring role in Disney's live-action remake of The Little Mermaid, and will play the role of Ariel, the rebellious daughter of King Triton who longs to live on dry land." Hoooo boy. |

Midsommar was great. Not for the squeamish though. There were some excruciating moments in it that literally made me go

Crawl was a tad bit better than expected. Cliche, emotional family backstory, suspect acting and dumb decision making, but the gator scenes were very well done. Entertaining flick as an excuse to get out of the summer heat.

Watched a really interesting documentary on Netflix called Houston We Have A Problem. About a conspiracy, backed up by “some” documentation where the US bought Yugoslavia’s space program and engineering for the equivalent of like 50B in today’s dollars in an effort to get our Apollo program back on track. Turns out the Yugoslavians program was a little overstated and Kennedy, LBJ, and Nixon spent time trying to get their money back. Lol
Pretty interesting.

Watched "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark" yesterday with my boy and my niece.
I thought it was fun. Good "horror" movie for kids. The creatures they dreamed up were kinda cool. Overall it was fun. Just remember though, this movie is clearly aimed as a horror movie for pre-teens and teens. No complaints here and i thought it lived up to my expectations. I'd like to add that i read the book as a kid. As an adult, i don't remember a damn thing about what i read back then haha so it was all new to me all over again.
