I think what makes it so bitter is the fact that he entered the season with some own high expectations, bouncing back from the loss in the SB and getting back, showing that the Chiefs are still the team to beat...therefore this current situation makes it so difficult.

It's bizarre that anybody is even remotely concerned about this guy. He's been the best QB in the league by a massive margin since he entered the league, has been the best QB in the NFL this season through 5 games (this despite his relative struggles against the Bills), and is the sole reason the Chiefs have the league leading offense in the sport yet again.

He can't control the fact that this team has the 8th worst defense in NFL history right now, but he's going to continue to annihilate defenses for the rest of the year (even if some of them have apparently finally figured out that blitzing is a stupid strategy against Mahomes/the Chiefs). Whether that leads to consistent wins will depend on what the defense can get their heads out of their collective asses.

Teams seem content on letting us score 30+ the hard way. Just so long as nothing gets deep or over the top. I think coaches are convinced that they will not let those big plays happen, NO MATTER WHAT.

This team might seriously have to dink and dunk it's way through the season. They're taking away what makes Mahomes special. Teams would rather let us get 400 yards the hard way than let us do it the way we'd want to.

And i think that's what Pat meant when he mentioned the coverages the other day. Teams just aren't coming up no matter how good the Chiefs are underneath.

So we have to accept that, or get more creative in how we beat these umbrella coverages.
Teams are smart to do this.

Every snap the offense takes, it's another chance a WR drops a pass, a RB fumbles, or a lineman gets called for holding.

The Chiefs are going to have to figure out how to settle down and play mistake free football.

Yeah I’ve been saying that since week one. Teams are going to force the Chiefs to have 10+ play drives to go 75 yards. They are counting on impatience from Mahomes or just mistakes by the Chiefs.

It’s working.

Also worth mentioning the double digit deficits in 4 straight playoff games. Won 3 of them including a Super Bowl. They lost against New England, but that was the defense blowing it at the end after Mahomes led the comeback into the lead.

You think Patrick didn’t have that face after the devastating loss to the Patriots in the AFCCG?

Some of you guys are overreacting. Peyton Manning lost 41-0 to a Herm Edwards team then followed up by losing to Brady 2 years in a row in the AFCCG before he finally won it all.

No QB is perfect. Adversity happens no matter what. This will make him better
