I think I like this India/Reimer for Singer deal.
On its own, it’s a pretty fair deal for both sides. Neither player is perfect, but they might be more of a “perfect” fit going forward. Two years left on both players(Reimer excluded). India stabilizes the top of the order for KC. He draws a lot of walks and takes a ton of pitches. All he’s gotta do is just keep doing what he’s doing and he’ll be a terrific place setter for Bobby, Vinnie and Salvy. Though I do wish he was a left handed hitter. Singer gives the Cincy rotation some stability. He’s rarely hurt, and a few days he’ll give you #1 starter stuff, but because he uses so many pitches, his value is as 3rd starter at best. Nothing wrong with that, just is what it is. It’s always kind of a bummer seeing a guy who your team has drafted, developed, go through the growth of finding their niche in the majors go to another team, and with that said, I’ll miss Brady and I’ll wish him well. But I think he’s pretty replaceable with what we already have in Marsh, Bubic, Wright and others… We didn’t have anyone like India, and that’s gonna be a big help to the lineup. Not a big fan of India not really having a position, but I think that’ll get worked out in the offseason and during ST. Hopefully this is just one of several more moves, but on paper, this is a good move for KC. We’ve got our leadoff man. Get another real bat to the lineup, maybe another starter and bullpen arm and I like our chances going forward. |

I know Cleveland wouldn't be interested in parting with him, but a guy like Kwan would really extend the order nicely. They should move for Brendan Donovan from the Cardinals instead though.
