Must Watch Series

All this talk about series, how network TV Sucks, and how hard it is to find quality shows, and some excellent shows that fly under the radar, I need a comprehensive review of all the series I need to see.

For good entertainment, I would be willing to buy DVD sets. But I've recently picked up HBOGO by kiping it from my parents, and recently got Netflix and Amazon Prime.

Here is a listing of shows that I currently own or have seen all the episodes of. If it isn't on the list, just assume I haven't seen it.

Spoiler!

Here is a listing of shows on my list to watch (mostly due to this thread)
Spoiler!

I work a ****ton, so it is hard for me catch a series while it is on to get it on the DVR, but I recognize the entertainment value and am willing to go after the Must See shows. Accordingly, I'm not necessarily looking for anything that is still running. I'm up for watching stuff that has run its course.

So what say you, Planet? Which shows should I see?

UPDATED for the shows I've seen recently.

Did a quick search for "Hell on Wheels" and nothing came up much to my surprise. It has been a few years since I watched it, it is so good I am into season 4 for the second time around.

I liked it too. I’m just here for Tom Hardy cooking. My YouTube feed feeds me a bunch of Tom Hardy Peaky Blinder clips because I always click on them.

And an extra 10, because you are a WHOP, mate.

Just finished episode 6 (the final 4 episodes not yet released) of what is supposed to the end of the series. I’m really going to miss Harry Bosch when it’s over, his daughter, not so much. The actor who plays Harry’s partner is great too, even though his role isn’t big, you root for him and hope he survives. Here’s the trailer, I didn’t see any recent posts or mentions about the Bosch series. I can’t believe Mimi Roger’s is 69 years old, crazy how time flies.

One of my favorites.

Anson Mount did such a good job that it got him a season pass for me -- I'll watch anything he's in. That's why I watched Strange New Worlds (and he's great in it as well).

I liked the show well enough that I read the Ambrose book, 'Nothing Like it in the World' afterwards.

We don't give enough credit to how monumentally important the Trans-Continental Railroad was to making America into a superpower. "From Sea to Shining Sea" just wasn't a thing until the late 1800s when we finished that thing and suddenly we could move material across the continent. We were no longer so waterbound and it really opened up middle America and the West for legitimate development.

A buddy of mine has been nagging me to watch Taboo so I started it the other night. Through 4 episodes so far and quite like it but unsure if this was a miniseries or just something that never received a second season and is going to be unsatisfying with an open or unfinished ending. Tough to not like anything with Hardy though...he plays this type of character so well.

I watched the first Bosch Legacy Season, and missed anything else. I'll have to watch it. I'm not a huge Titus Welliver guy, but this changed that. I LOVE that show.

Good find! Odd it didn't come up in my search, but it does confirm it has been about five years since I watched it the first time. Just as good the second time around.

It’s pretty mid. There are parts of it that are really good and compelling, but then there are some storylines and choices that really fall flat. It seems off balance to me.

In other news, I’m really enjoying The Studio. Seth Rogan is just so good.
