*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

Seriously. Gonna need some kind of reference book to figure out what it all means, if anything.

They don’t look so bad. I had even more garishly green Adidas shoes in the 70s.

Riddick: Chiefs 'Thought About' Starting Patrick Mahomes as a Rookie

https://www.si.com/nfl/chiefs/news/l...es-as-a-rookie

Quote:
"There was a point in time, early in Patrick's rookie year — they thought about putting him in there. 'Should we just go ahead and put him in there?'"

"Just bench Alex Smith because Mahomes is just this sort of dual-threat good," Torre interjected.

"Exactly," Riddick said. "Because he was doing stuff from out the gate that they were looking at each other like, 'Oh my god.' I know that for a fact. I know! I know, and they had to sit on their hands because they were still winning, Alex was having a career year, but they also knew, 'Man, this 15, boy, woo, my god!' And they had to forcibly keep themselves from putting him in the game."

Back in 2017 I'd have murdered someone to have Reid start Mahomes, but in retrospect, it probably all worked out for the best.

We let Alex have his final year. It was actually a pretty fun season, then he put the nail in his own coffin with another shitty playoff performance. We gave that ****er 5 years. Thanks for the first playoff win in 20 years, but it's not a coincidence that Pat took us to three straight AFCCGs when Alex struggled to get us past the Wild Card Round.

Supposedly no expense was spared in preparing Pat II for his second season. No to starting year 1 if this was the result.
