Got new car insurance for the Mustang from Grundy under their "collector car" policy. $250 for the year with the car value at $18k. Couldn't believe how reasonable it was, not to mention how cheap my 2 year AZ registration was for a car now 13 years old.

The wife drives a 2002 Chevy Blazer, it's developed a slow antifreeze leak coming from the intake manifold gasket, as best I can tell. I dumped a bottle of "Bar's Leaks" block seal in and ran it for 15 min as directed. Anyone have any luck using this stuff? Leaks about a half gallon every month but she doesn't drive much, maybe 20 miles a week.

More seriously, stop leak products are best for pinhole leaks in things like the radiator fins. It's not going to end a gasket leak. The chemistry that bonds the stop leak to pinhole leaks isn't even compatible with the material that's failing in the gasket [like putting a band-aid on a broken bone. Band-aids fix skin abrasions]. You're gonna want to replace that. Last edited by Baby Lee; 04-16-2017 at 07:11 PM.. |

And use the problem solver gaskets. If it's coming out on that motor it's also going in most likely. It will tank the bearings quickly. |

Use fel pro problem solver aluminium/rubber gaskets also. Don't use plastic ones again.
I've probably done that job (between the 4.3 and 5.7) hundreds of times. |

So I just checked the oil and it's not milky, should I try changing the oil and see what happens or bite the bullet? |

I'm pretty sure your going to say bite the bullet, not sure I want to tackle this project right now. Looks like the repair pal cost to take it somewhere is $400 to $650, what do you charge?

A difference insurance question here and Sauto price estimate if you can. What's the rough cost to replace a car window if it's shattered?
I just figured out that our car insurance policy has been charging us an $80 yearly glass coverage that waives our $1k deductible for glass only coverage on one of our cars. The reason we have a $1k deductible is because we would never have a problem paying out $1k for an unexpected car repair. This gets us lower yearly rates and in the past 7 years, we've never had even one insurance claim anyway. He stated the new car would be $120 for this glass policy for the year, meaning we'd be paying $200 a year in "glass coverage" for both cars, something that we would maybe rarely use (haven't yet), when the cost to replace a car window probably isn't even that much anyway. I'm thinking about discontinuing this glass coverage on both car policies.
