***The Official MMA Thread***

Excited about an upcoming fight? Want to make predictions, or just give people a heads-up that there are some fights on? We can do it here.

(Also a good place to complain, dicuss, and agrue about the outcomes)

Hunt vs Silva was one of the best fights I've ever seen.

Its also the first time I've ever seen a fight end in a draw and went "hmmm, yeah I'm OK with that"

I probably would have went with Hunt, but a draw was fine.

Yep, great fight, two giants swinging for the fences, both a bloody mess and throw in plenty of ground and pound... i would've given the decision to Hunt, even though it was pretty close overall, i think he landed more standing shots and held Silva down longer.

One of the best HWT flights ever. Was hoping Hunt would finish that freakazoid off, but I gained new found respect for the neanderthal. Hopefully those 2 don't start talking like Riddick Bowe.

The neanderthal gene in him is veeery strong, there was definite inter-breeding in his familys distant past.

Just so's i don't come off totally unreasonable about these ****ing brazilians... my disdain for most of them goes way back to the beginning, all the way back to the very first events with Royce Gracie, the guy was Infamous for not letting go of a submission attempt long after the ref tried to stop things... they'd have to push, pull and threaten the guy just to make him let go.

It started in one of the very first events with Keith Hackney and carried over into pretty much everyone one of his wins, he did it to Kimo atleast twice and countless other guys along the way, trying to drive home his message of "how dare you enter here with me"... i just HATED that kind of poor sportsmanship, it was arrogant and dirty.

Then you get into more modern day guys like Rusamir (sp?) Palhares, Bigfoot, Anderson Silva (his disrespectful clowning is legendary) and many, many others... just constantly being showoffs, poor sports, arrogant, dirty, pick an ugly word and they love to do it, too many of them really views themselves as superior people... Palhares for instance, just got kicked out of UFC for breaking a guys arm long after the ref jumped in, just wouldn't let go in true Royce Gracie style.

Take this Bigfoot vs Hunt matchup, it ends in a draw and that big mongoloid mfer wants to get up there later and say...

"Dahhh bahhh yahhh, i jus wanna erraone to know i hurta ma back ina twainin yahhh (as the aussie crowd boo's their guts out) wisha ahhh coulda gibben u daaa win"

Making excuses for not winning, its just typical of too many of those guys... in the final analysis, yep... i hate most brazilians, people who think Americans are arrogant need to take a good look at these extremely unsportsmanlike people.

Not all are though, just one prime example is Wanderlei Silva, i used to hate that guy, but then i watched an interview where you really got a feel for the guy... humble, Christian and shy... much like a guy like Hines Ward, he's an animal on the playing field but a retiring gentleman off it, he changed my tune on him for sure.

But too many of those mfers are terribly poor sports, arrogant to the roof... almost anytime i watch, i'll root for ANY nationality besides those guys.

I too find myself rooting against the Brazilians too. Many are dirty. The only Brazilian fighter I like is JDS. He's proven to be a hell of a nice guy. I guess I'm mostly sick of them because they're all over in racing as well. I'm sure Brazilian fans feel the same about US fighters.

I think Palhares might be mildly reeruned. He's infamous for ruining guys' careers by shredding their knees. He was doing it back in amateur ranks and he's still doing it today. That heelhook that destroyed Mike Pierce's career along with his knee is just the latest example. There's definitely something a little off with that guy upstairs.

Most Brazilians are good sports actually and there's no reason to hate them. Anderson Silva only does his antics in the octagon in order to get into his opponents' heads. They usually lose their shit when starts doing that and become that much easier to catch with his already deadly strikes.

By all accounts, Anderson is a very humble and respectful person outside the octagon.

I've never met one, but i certainly don't believe they're all, as a nation, somehow "dirty".... i hold a sporting grudge, not a broader negative view.

This has spun upon itself, unfortunately.

Cat Zingano's husband has unexpectedly died. No details yet on how.

update: suicide. He hanged himself, no one knows why.

Really stemmed from his victory over Churella (although most east coast guys hated him anyways for how he wrestled Troy Letters), although running around with the OSU flag while the 157 awards were going on didn't help his case.
Don't forget the Muzzufar Abdurakhmanov match
