Let’s not forget after the 2nd roughing the passer Houston held KC to 4th and 1.
KC ran the ball with Hunt and Houston couldn’t capitalize. I guess the refs helped Hunt cross the line too.

Yep. They're in the 5 stages of grief and can't get past the "denial" stage.

This all started when that knucklehead Greg Olsen cried during the SB hold against the Eagles. The Fox camera made it look like a bad call. That's what all the idiots watching on TV saw.
It wasn't until after the game that the other camera angle was shown with the clear hold, but how many people even saw that? |

Knute Rockne and Pop Warner had this argument after the 1925 Rose Bowl. Stanford heavily outgained Notre Dame in yards and first downs but lost 27-10 due to eight turnovers, including two INTs for TDs. Warner argued teams should gain points for yards and first downs. Rockne agreed as long as baseball teams received runs for more hits and runners left on base. There is nothing new under the sun.

If the league wanted to rig games, it would stand to reason they would try to make the outcomes mundane in context of statistics as not to raise suspicion. A deception works best when no attention can be drawn. But maybe that is part of the rigging!

The unnecessary roughness call was the only iffy call, but it was right for two reasons;
#1 - One of the defenders made contact with Mahomes' helmet #2 - The Texans are well known to be a dirty team that is looking to injure opposing players. The NFL knows this and the officials damn sure know this. It was clear that both of those defenders were very clearly trying to hit Mahomes in his helmet. One of them was legitimately trying to take him out, even Simms thinks that and so even if neither one made contact I think it's a good call. |
