Should CJ95 continue to freelance?

We've seen by now that Chris Jones has free reign to line up on the d line wherever he likes, moving someone else inside to his d tackle spot if he wants the end.

D line has looked pretty poor in a lot of situations rushing the passer.

Today, against a good o line and mobile qb, the d line without Jones was all over Russell Wilson the entire game and sacked him 5 times.

The d line was consistent all game, with the right guys in the best positions.

Kinda feels like Jones should stay put at his d tackle spot where nobody can match his production, and just let our ends rush from where their natural position is. They don't have the talent to move inside just to satisfy Jones desire to rush the passer from a more forgiving spot.

The biggest problem is that when he moves outside, he has the talent to do tha but the guy that WAS outside is nowhere near talented enough to replace Jones inside. So if Jones doesn't instantly beat his tackle, then the line suffers a bit because he's blocked on the end, and now there's inferior talent rushing from inside as well.

They were running the ball at ease when this was still a competitive game. Not going to say it’s a worry because the run defense has been nails all season, but I don’t completely write it off as being irrelevant without Jones.

I think you are making an excellent point and are correct.

Sure, but the Chiefs have played against subpar offensive linemen previously this season and have not seemed to be able to be as disruptive as pass rushers as they were today.
