Furnace on the fritz
Last night as I got home from work I noticed my home was cooler than usual. I checked the thermostat, saw it was calling for heat, and headed to the furnace itself to see if I could figure anything out.

Anyway, I noticed that the furnace was trying to kick on, but would shut itself down after about 5-8 seconds. I noticed a light on the circuit board that would come on as the furnace was trying to start up, but then would turn off like the system was cutting power.

Anyone have any thoughts on what may be wrong?

That's probably above my pay grade.

I'm waiting on a call back from a technician to come look at it. The guy over the phone said it sounded like a circuit board issue? I don't know how true that is

Anyway, thanks for the help. Sounds like I'm going to need someone to take a look at it.

Did you isolate the thermostat yet and make sure it's not the problem? You can take the thermostat off and hardwire it (by twisting the two wires together, I don't remember which two).

Same thing has happened to my primary furnace twice. there was a light blinking and the pattern or color (cant remember) indicated what was wrong
We had to have the thermocoupler replaced. I keep an extra one just in case. 5 min job to swap out.
