That's why this one year contract was genius. Jones will play has ass off which only helps the Chiefs more.

-If he gets 0-10 sacks I think Veach will be able to resign him for a reasonable contract
-If he gets 10-15 sacks I think that might be worst case scenario where he will still demand HIGH salary but not a good enough season to give him that OR have a huge tag/trade market. -If he gets 15-20 sacks I think Veach will give him his money and/or have multiple options to tag/trade him. |

He has a chance, but only because it's a basically a contract year.

By the back half of the schedule this pass rush is gonna be so overwhelming that I could see CJ having one of the best pass rushing seasons ever.
And if that happens, CJ should just sign an incentive-laden 1-year deal every year. If every year were like a contract year he might end up being the GOAT. Dude thrives on feeling the need to prove himself... |

He was about one second (cumulatively) from having 3.5 this past game.
Given the Bears line right now it wouldn’t surprise me if he gets 3.5 this week. |

I really hope Veach doesn't just let him walk for nothing. Maybe the real question is, do you want Veach to let him walk for nothing after this year or give him more money than we should? |

He only does it during contract years, Veach schooled him into another contract year. It's done.

The best outcome would be if CJ gets his 15.5 sacks, and then Veach signs him to nice new contract so CJ can continue his HOF run.
