Berry was said to have a condition a specialized shoe could fix.

He hasn’t undergone surgery, even though if he had done it off the bat, he could have returned by playoff time.

He has been described as “literally day to day” for 70 days.

He could have been placed on IR and brought back, the team has instead opted to use a roster spot on him.

What is going on?

Seems like a candidate for surgery. If he's waiting for the playoffs to test it out, he won't have played for two years. And, if he gets surgery, he might be out another year if they have to re-attach his Achilles. It doesn't seem likely EB will play a full season again. EB is a candidate for retirement. But, that would mean he'd have to give up a boatload of money.

the real reason is, why play through some pain when you can stand on the sidelines and still collect a massive paycheck for doing nothing but hamstringing this team that has only taken care of you and went above and beyond for you when you had cancer.

Either the medical team missed it or Berry wasn’t forthcoming if it’s actually severe enough to become a cheerleader. I’m guessing the team thinks he’s capable of playing and he’s refusing. Either way a bag of dicks should be consumed by one if not both sides. I’d like to see some pressure put on Berry from the team to do his ****ing job.

“Saving him for the playoffs” is the most absurd concept going. Do you want him to walk (or limp) out there for the first time in two years with our most promising looking playoff run in decades on the line? He’ll get his ass burned for sure. Look what’s happening to a less than 100% Marcus Peters.

I think Chiefs identified it extremely late and that's why surgery wasn't an option. If he had surgery the season would have been over for him so they chose the rest and see approach. Then they factored in team success and decided collectively it's better to just hold him off as long as possible. They never anticipated we'd do this good so he was never placed on IR. They figured by week 5 we'd need him badly. But here we are, killing shit, so they've now decided to push his return later and later.

Eventually he will come back, and based off how good the team is it'll be a couple weeks prior to the playoffs just to get him in the zone.
