How Excited or Not ..Are You??

The guys at work are kind of meh about the upcoming playoff game. They say if we play Pitt we will lose. Out of 3 people I talk to about our chances 2 out of 3 say we won't win at home!
I think more excitement will build when we know who we play. Personally I'm very excited and don't care who we play.. more worried about stopping the run and if Houstons knee is healthy enough for him to be a factor.

Sagarin has us about a 4 pt fave vs the Steelers so that doesn't scare me. But I'm a bit nonchalant about the playoffs since NE is almost assuredly going to play us at home if we get there and I have no doubt they're better than us.

No way this is a 1 and done team. If they get the 1 the rest of the league is done. Those previous 13-3 teams mean nothing to current players. I am excited that we have a legitimate shot.

After 20+ years, it's hard to be excited. Because Chiefs. No other team has invented as many ways to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Even at halftime of the Indy playoff debacle a few years back I told the guy I was watching with that I wasn't convinced KC would win it.

Am I wrong this time? I hope so. I really do. But I've just seen this song and dance too many times not to think I know the ending.

If I truly believed that Houston would come back strong, I might feel differently. But I expect him to play ineffectively, if at all. I've seen that song and dance, too.

*Shrug* Who knows, maybe I'm wrong. Hopefully I am. But until they beat a decent team in the playoffs, I remain skeptical.

All we've got to do is complete the current 5 game winning streak we're on and we'll be fine. We've beaten good teams all year!!

Chiefs were humiliated by the Steelers this year-I am sure they have not forgot it. I bet they can't wait to knock their asses out of the playoffs like they did the Donks. Their defense is not going to scare anyone. They will have no answer for a newly mobile Alex, Big Hoss Kelce, and have nobody whatsoever that can cover Reek. Ben will get his yards-but as Ben does, he will have a few crucial turnovers and that will be all we need.

NE-got us at half power last year-but we still had our chances to win that one. Last game we had zero push up the middle-but this year we have a more healthy Poe and Mr. Jones (who has been wrecking shit all year). Tom Terrific will not be able to just step up in the pocket and pick us apart. Special teams favors the Chiefs-we will have the fastest and most dynamic player on the field wearing red. Chiefs offense will be Much improved and healthier over last year and will be tough to stop. NE will pile up yards and feel they have it won most of the game-and then like 12 of the teams we played this year-will be wondering how they let the game slip away.

NFC has no team that matches up well to the Chiefs.

I'm stoked! STOKED!!!

Nothing I'd like to see more than a Divisional playoff win AT Arrowhead.

The fans deserve it.

Wish I could be there.

Did the Steelers beat both of last years Superbowl winners on the road this year- including beating the Donks twice? No that was the Chiefs. You can't Be the Champ until you Beat the Champ-and we did that twice this year and ended their season with an ! point!!!

I am not sure how a true Chiefs fan can't be excited about this year-it was amazing and this is a solid team in every phase of the game.

Chiefs will win this one-they will go up to shitboro and beat the cheating, ball deflating, over confident Pats and will mop up whatever team the NFC throws at us.

This is our year-we will shock the world.
I was there too!!! I have a tape of the game showing the wife and I celebrating the touchdown that Montana threw to tie the game...

-defense playing well vs Carr 2X, Rivers 2X, Ryan, Cam, Luck.
-Tyreek Hill
-Maclin, Tamba, Houston all healthy
-Improved OL as a whole
-Chris Jones
-Mitchell Schwartz>Donald Stephenson
-Conley, Ford, Kelce and Sorenson ascending
-Terrance Mitchell

It's a far better team than last year's version with Jason Avant, Knile Davis and Frankie Hammond getting playing time.

Heck yeah I'm excited. Sure, I have my doubts. I can't think about this game without remembering all of the past playoff failures. I also think about those horrendous games against Tennessee and Tampa Bay this season. This team has proven that they can beat anyone, but they have also proved that they can shit the bed against anyone too. But, call me a glutton for punishment. I'm going into this postseason expecting a win on the 15th, another win in the AFCCG and that long awaited Superbowl win. I realize that I have a good chance to be disappointed, but I just don't care. I want this and I am going to hope for it until the bitter end or the sweetness of the Superbowl.

Honestly, the idea of beating Pittsburgh and NE in back-to-back weeks, it's so far-fetched that it's not even about disappointment - it's just inevitable we don't make a Super Bowl. I mean we're ****ing Chiefs fans. However, I will say that watching a HOME playoff victory, especially over such a great QB in Big Ben, would be incredible, even if it's followed by a shitty loss in NE.

The fact is, with the odd and generally meaningless exception, Arrowhead Stadium hasn't been itself since, what, 2003? Then in 2004 with that crappy, disappointing season, it seemed a gloom reality set in for the next decade. There was nothing quite like watching that 2003 team. No empty seats, even in the stupid club level. Now with Hill in the fold, playmakers on defense, this team needs to reward the fans with exciting, high-level football. Another one-and-done playoff choke is just ... there're no words.

That was probably my most favorite moment from all the decades of games I have been to. We were right there in the endzone on the Opponents side. It seemed like it was in slow motion. Montana throws the TD and for a few seconds it was complete silence-nobody could believe it-then BOOM-the crowd was the loudest I have ever heard. My ears were ringing the rest of the day and my voice was gone for several days from yelling so much.

That team had something special-and so does this year's team. Maybe I am just fooling myself because I want them to win it so bad- but I am positive we Will win it all. This is our year.
