Ok these were my impressions of the game and how I think we look so far

I haven't posted in a while but I just wanted to tell you what I saw yesterday. I know there is work to be done but this is what I think so far.


I rewatched the game this morning. Our Offensive line is gonna be amazing the biggest addition as I said when we signed him was the RT Schwartz. Alex and Foles had more time to go through the progressions not running around for their lives.


The kicker Santos is coming into his own. He kicked a 58 yarder with ease. Him with colquit and hill and DAT or Knile makes our special teams dangerous.

I think the O is gonna be light years better our RB depth is crazy good. The WRs are way better. It's not gonna be just kelcie, Charles, and Macklin anymore. This O has many weapons and can attack you many ways.

The addition of Foles was very smart . Unfortunately the young Qbs aren't ready yet it will be interesting to see which one they trade or cut and which ones they keep.

Yes the D is gonna struggle at first with the young CBs but they are all talented and by mid season this D is gonna be scary. The addition of Chris Jones is looking like we got the steal of the draft. In fact this entire draft looks like one of Dorsey's best. Especially as I said at the time like the additions of the CB DJ White and LB Dadi Nicholas both raw but extremely talented.

This is the most complete Chiefs team I've seen in years. Yes there are questions right now what team doesn't have them at this time of the year. However look at Dorsey he's showing to be a great GM. Remember he took over a 2-14 team that was gutted with no real depth and an inept O. To turn around with three winning seasons and two playoff appearances. Even ending the playoff winning draught.

I know I'll probably be blasted for these comments saying I have rose colored glasses on but I have faith in this team and with the right breaks this is a championship caliber team. How many times have really been able to say that?

Complete fallacy. First off, Smith only missed three games. The defense was weak against the Bengals and the Bears with Sean Smith.

The Texans and their two QB's did not "pick apart" the Chiefs defense.

Denver was down by 7 points with 40 seconds left, scoring only 17 to that point.

And Aaron Rodgers has been known to "pick apart" NFL defenses for nearly a decade.

I'm not trying to be negative, but does Chris Jones seem slow? The guy is a monster don't get me wrong. I'm just hoping he has enough wheels to get to the QB. Is he faster than what I'm assuming?

Peters was starting his first games in the NFL, Berry was coming back from cancer...Poe had back surgery and Gaines got hurt.

I think the offense has the chance to be a lot better. Alex was more of an attacker the second half of the season. So I'm optimistic. But we'll need much more offense / defense balance than we're used to and hopefully Alex is up to the task.

he is a big huge mammoth man that can push the pocket. That alone means he did his job as far as I'm concerned. That fact that you want 4.5 closing speed for him to chase the QB down ontop of it blows my mind. That's literally the point of edge rushers, if Jones can push the middle it's the OLBers jobs to actually do their job and finish.

Like wait until Jones with playing Hali and Houston instead of the nonsense bums he's out there with now.

Th was a different team when Sean Smith and Peters lined up opposite each other. When Smith hit his stride, the defense wasn't just good, they were terrific. Scoring defense was excellent and they were exceptional at creating big turnovers. We've seen Sutton's D get flat out picked apart when a QB can consistently attack one CB. And that's with a healthy Houston / Hali.

I feel better this year than I did last without Sean Smith. I like Gaines if he can stay healthy and DJ White looked decent against Seattle. Even still, Hali is a year older, Houston is out, and who knows when Berry comes back. I don't think our D will collapse. But I think we'll need to win a lot more games in our 20s and 30s than we're used to. And I don't think we can depend on game-changing turnovers like we saw year 1 and year 3. The offense probably has to kick it up a notch.

Sooo much to be excited about and pleased with, the pros FAR outweighed the cons

The defensive depth on display has even calmed my fears about what happens if Ford continues to look like shit... we can survive his benching

Honestly , .... What scares me is; we have a lot of good players that have potential to be great and some of the players we are going to cut are going to be picked up by other teams and probably come back to haunt us! I just hope when they start slicing and dicing they keep the right ones!

Hali, while a year older, is fresh after getting all of TC off. And we do know when Berry will be back. Right before the season starts. He's not missing a game.

I love the depth of the D line we need them to get the push at least while Houston is out.

I think next game we should let Dadi get some reps with first team D and see how he does.

The disappointment is how Dee ford can look great some games and disappear others. I hope this is just one game but I thought he'd be further along than this by now.

The offensive line has the potential to be elite... easily the best offensive line the Chiefs have had since Roaf retired.

Ware and West look like they will pick up where they left off last year which begs the question why the Chiefs didn't try to trade (or be more aggressive in trying to trade) Jamaal Charles this offseason and free up his $6 million cap number (which could have been 100% taken off the Chiefs' salary cap with a trade).
